The staff at self checkouts Service with a frown, If they are not busy sniggering & Talking about customers, Their eyeballing you, You couldn't do this in any other job It's an absolute joke. It's not like once it's like every time l'm in Tesco. I have seen other customers complaining about the same thing. So it’s not just me

Rude Cashier, Ignored Me for 5-Minute Chat, Then Mocked Me With Colleagues My experience at this Tesco today was beyond unprofessional - it was outright disrespectful. The cashier completely ignored me for a full 5 minutes while she had a personal conversation with a friend. After finally deciding to serve me, the situation worsened. When I placed my empty shopping basket on the counter after unloading, she sharply told me, "Next time, you cannot put this on my desk." Confused, as I saw no other designated place, I asked her where I should put it. She simply pointed vaguely towards the self-checkout area without any helpful direction. The most unprofessional part came as I was leaving. I saw her turn to two other colleagues and begin talking about what had just happened, clearly discussing me. To be ignored, spoken to rudely, and then mocked with other staff is an appalling way to treat a customer. This entire incident, combined with other similar reviews, shows a severe lack of training and professionalism at this location. Management needs to take immediate action. I will not be returning until I'm confident that customers are treated with basic respect.

Today me and my mother experienced a lack of humility from the staff of Shankhill Tesco. My mother had arrived to collect her husband’s bank card which had been left behind the night before , we brought my fathers ID with us as we where told to bring the previous day we where allowed to collect the card if we brought identification . However , when we had arrived and spoke with a middle aged lady with blonde hair at the desk , we were told we could not collect it . The issue does not lay with us being refused the card but the appalling treatment we received from the staff . They had gave us no formal explanation to why we were not allowed to collect it but given smug and cold responses instead . My mother was incredibly embarrassed as someone who has difficulty with social interactions. We had then been told that the duty manager would arrive to greet us and give an explanation. We were left standing for an hour waiting on the duty manager .My father had to leave work early to collect the card ,this is information we told the Tesco staff and they could only shrug . While waiting an entire hour on the duty manager to arrive , a young security man stood behind me and my mother as thought we where criminals , even though we had shown no threatening or confrontational behaviour. It was as though we had been something to mock to make their shifts quicker as they appeared to have been patronising together towards us . My father had then arrived and miraculously the duty manager who had left me and my mother waiting for an hour had arrived and gave us the card , on another note had been locked in a different area of the store from where the rest of the bank cards are kept which I found strange . The duty manager I believe to be called Jennifer , did not have the grace and sense of urgency I expect them to have as she did not arrive for me and my mother at all during the hour that we where left standing , and as someone who has worked in retail before this , I believe it was a disgrace. I’m not too sure if we where mistreated due to sectarian reasons from the names on the Id cards we presented or if the staff working at that desk in Tescos had bad training and lacked common curtesy .

I have no negative comments about the store itself but the security guards on the other hand… The security guards in this particular Tescos need to kick people out for valid reasons. I understand that lots of teens mess about in this store but learn not to stereotype the rest of the teens. Me and my 3 friends were in this store at 9:30pm, we came in because one of my friends needed to buy her cousin a congratulations card and also to buy herself sweets. One of my friends were laughing really loudly which I understand is annoying but it only went on for 5 minutes. 2 of my friends had to leave to get the bus home so there was only 2 of us left. as our other 2 friends were walking away, a security guard and a tesco worker came up to me and my friend beside the sweet aisle and accused my 2 friends of stealing, saying something was in their coat and then proceeded to accuse me and my friend beside the sweet aisle stealing. The security guard was trying to say he has us on CCTV when if he really did, he would see we didn’t do a thing, we had just got to the sweet aisle. He also started saying he was gonna show our parents the CCTV footage which he can if he wants, there wouldn’t be anything there. He then walked us out of the store without letting us buy what we needed to buy. My friend said she was gonna get her dad up to the store because it was ridiculous, he then walked off when she said that, probably was scared because he knew we didn’t do anything. Of course the beepers did not go off when we exited because again, we didn’t steal. Me and my friend stood outside waiting on our lifts and he was being a petty freak and started to baracade the doors as if we were going to enter again after being kicked out… for nothing! This is the 2nd time this has happened so you may think that since it’s happened more than once, we aren’t innocent, but trust me, if the CCTV footage was put up on facebook, everyone would see we did nothing. Please hire security guards that have a true witness instead of accusing 4 girls of stealing.

Great retailer to buy groceries. Club members get discounts as well as quantity purchases, buy four and get the fifth one free. Club members have access to scanners to scan products.

Place is always extremely understaffed and waiting ages in queues no matter the time of day is ridiculous. Feel sorry for the wee fella Rhys and the girl Liz who always greet me at self service, the amount of abuse I have overheard them receive from other customers is ridiculous and never a manager to be seen.

For some time now this store has been operating with a reduced number of staff on the tills. Any time we asked why this was happening, we were told they couldn't get staff. Obviosly young parents no longer want to work part time hours and get their income boosted by family tax credits!? Yesterday was the worst I've seen. About 12 noon on a Saturday and 3 people on the tills!! The queues were ridiculous. People were complaining so they opened another till as we were leaving. MacDonalds due to open in the carpark soon so can't wait to see what that does to the traffic situation. Now considering shopping elsewhere. Shame as we have been using the store so long that we know quite a few of the staff and they are so nice.
