I've been in and out of the trade for decades. On two visits to Interline at Totnes I found the yard staff off hand and the counter staff cold. That said, prices are generally competitive, and stock is often available. Deliveries are well timed and professional. A warmer welcome goes a long way in keeping customers!
Had an issue with this store about a month ago with an order that was not delivered as promised,twice. Complained and store manager contacted me at 0800 on Monday morning. Apologised about goods not delivered and had them delivered free of charge the same day. I was also refunded the full amount for the goods as a goodwill gesture. Orders before and since have all arrived as stated.
Always a good service , be it via delivery or picking up from yard. Staff very helpful, especially picking up paving slabs. Nice lad from Brixham.
Refused to exchange an item with a "lifetime guarantee" because they had not recorded a previous exchange on their record, which apparently they should have done. This was used as the excuse. "Computer says no". I won't be using Interline again. You live and learn. Response to supplier's comments below: Although I originally got this from Interline it's a manufacturer's, not supplier's, guarantee and Travis Perkins willingly exchanged it when I explained what had happened. Now that's customer service. :
Was charged more than double for 125 metres of alkathene water pipe. Check the prices before you go. I queried the price and was told that I wouldn't have been charged this much if I had an account. I like to try and shop locally wherever possible and have never posted a negative review before. Be careful.
Love this company. Delivered 4 bags of chippings down my narrow lane, but we didn't have space for it all (my mistake). No problem for the delivery guys, they suggested returning in a few days with the rest once space had been cleared. Even gave me some good suggestions on the landscaping project I was working on. Positive, friendly, great customer service.
