Admin staff is not empathetic with patients needs. They are rather defensive for simple requests. Not helpful at all.

A reassuring experience at Rivergreen Surgery After moving from Mapperley Top, I was genuinely anxious about finding a new GP surgery that could match the exceptional care I received at Mapperley Plains View. I approached Rivergreen Surgery with a fair amount of scepticism—but I’m so glad to say my concerns were unfounded. Recently, I needed to access their services and was thoroughly impressed. Dr Ahmed took the time to listen attentively, arranged prompt blood tests and an ultrasound, and followed up quickly with a clear and accurate diagnosis. The telephone consultation was efficient and incredibly helpful. The reception team also deserves praise—they were courteous, professional, and made the whole process seamless. I feel confident and well cared for, and I’m grateful to have found a surgery that truly prioritises patient wellbeing.

I’ve just been in today, at 14.45 10th Sept to take a sample for my mum. I explained to the lady behind the counter (longish blonde hair late 50’s) before I could finish what I was going to say she snapped ‘it’s got to be in before 12.30!) I told her the Doctor had asked me to do this! Oh she said…… No customer service skills! then the printer didn’t print out the prescription in green paper……. this should be ok! I said can you check because my mum needs this….. I’ve just been told by my colleague it’s ok! again very snappy. I suggest if you’re in a forward facing customer service role you need to learn some manners! or if you dislike your job that much get a new one!

I stayed at my old surgery for as long as possible to avoid being transferred to these lot. Sadly didn't live in the catchment area anymore. This is hands down the worst practice I've ever had the displeasure of being with. They only do on-the-day appointments. So you join a dogpile of other patients at 8:00am and by 8:01am they are all gone, and you have to call back tomorrow. You will be on hold for about 30-45 minutes before they tell you this though. This happens day after day until you either get so ill you're forced to go to A&E, or die. The receptionists hate their life and everyone in it. Rude, obnoxious and zero patience. You can tell they have no empathy by the way they talk to you. These people should not work in the care industry. The doctors are beyond incompetent. I was on diazepam for several years with my old practice, for severe panic attacks after being in the Army. They would give me 1 box of tablets which would last me a year. I only needed them when I had flashbacks. When I transferred to Rivergreen, they stopped this medication instantly and just said "it's addictive", didn't take any consideration for the fact I'd been on it for 8 years prior with no addiction. And left me to suffer for 5 years until I didn't live there anymore. I also had several years of fatigue and depression and all they ever did was throw anti-depressants at me. They had no interest in possible underlying causes, and now 7 years later I have been diagnosed with hypogonadism - I have been severely hormone deficient for over a decade, which has destroyed a lot of my life. Disgusting, arrogant and inept people. I am now with a 5-star practice living elsewhere, but I deeply empathize with those still living in the Clifton area that have to be subjected to the worst care service in Nottingham. Possibly even the country.

I'm a 71 women who had a post menstrual bleed. I rung at 8am all appointments had gone. A voicemail message said contact 111 if you need treatment. I phoned 111 for advice they said I needed to see a GP She booked me a telephone appointment. Later that afternoon I received a text asking if I still needed this appointment to ring the surgery. The receptionist said you should have rung the surgery I did there were no appointments. She said well it's not an emergency I will speak to the duty Dr Noone got back to me. It's not right a woman of 71 years having a bleed. Now I don't know if I should ring back.

Only giving 1 star because I can’t give zero. Turned up this morning for bloods with the nurse at 9:15, the self check in screen wouldn’t work so had to wait for receptionists to come off the phone to tell me I cannot be seen and will have to rebook. I hate this drs and this is my last straw with them. The drs are lovely but the surgery itself, the receptionists and the way it is ran is TERRIBLE.

Many thanks to all the staff at the surgery. My experience was above and beyond. After being referred to the practice for urgent attention. I called at reception with a letter from Boots opticians. I was told that they would act as soon as possible. Within the hour I received a call with an appointment for the next morning. After attending the most efficient practice nurse, I was given a prescription for medication and follow up information. All this in less than 18 hrs after my initial routine opticians visit. Well done our NHS.

Can someone explain to me how you are suppose to book a doctors appointment at rivergreen doctors? Because you can’t book in advance as they are all taken, they tell you to call at 8am, when you do they don’t even put you in a queue, they say the number of spaces in the queue is full and cut you off?. It’s a ridiculous system.

The worse doctor surgery in nottingham. You have to queue outside from 7.30am and they only give the first four people in the queue an face to face appointment. I would recommend you do not to use this surgery.

I appreciate the pressures GP surgeries are under at the moment but other surgeries seem to cope a lot better than this one. This used to be a good practice but not anymore. The worst thing I find is the reception team, they are often cold, unwelcoming and rude. It is virtually impossible to get an appointment, no matter how poorly you are. I rang regarding a very sick toddler and the receptionist said there were no appointments left and that they were closed this afternoon. I do not understand how they can make that decision on whether someone gets seen and certain things should take priority. Therefore, I find their priorities wrong and they just say ring back tomorrow even though a concerned mother with a sick child could be very serious. The pressures front line staff are under are only being made worse by the fact you can't get a 10 minute phonecall with a GP as patients resort to other services to get seen and they always seem to at least acknowledge and try and sort your problem no matter what pressures they are under. I would not recommend this practice.
