My son began his theatre journey three years ago with Flying High Company, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience. He has discovered a deep passion for acting, and when he steps on stage, he truly comes alive, radiating confidence and joy. As his love for theatre grew, I started taking him to more productions and engaging in conversations about the history of drama, character development, and the emotions that shape a performance. These discussions have sparked a wealth of meaningful dialogue between us and nurtured a shared interest in the art form of which I knew so little before he pulled me into it. What truly sets Flying High apart, though, is their approach to inclusion. Many places claim to be neurodiverse-friendly, but few do it as authentically and thoughtfully as Flying High does. Carrie and her team have gone above and beyond to ensure my son feels supported, valued, and happy in both his classes and his LAMDA preparation this year. Carrie is an extraordinary individual—patient, intelligent, and deeply passionate about her work. She is not only an incredible actress but also an exceptional teacher and a genuinely wonderful person. As a parent, it’s rare to find people who truly understand and appreciate the unique qualities of my son, but Flying High has done just that. They’ve created an environment where he is not only accepted but celebrated for who he is, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.

Absolutely love Flying High! My son joined the summer camp a few years ago and he's never looked back. It's bought on his confidence so much and he is thriving. Love the team at Flying High, thanks for everything you do :)

My son has been with Flying High for 5 years now. He loves it and has made some great friends there! The yearly drama showcase at The Bonnington theatre is an amazing experience for all the groups to perform on a stage.

My 2 sons (now nearly 11 and 14) have been going to Flying High for Coming up for 7 years, and they love it! They have great fun, they develop great skills and confidence, and they explore interesting themes that get them to think and develop a greater understanding of themselves and others. It also has a very welcoming and inclusive ethos and atmosphere. Thanks to all the team there!

My daughter has been attending for many years now and loves both the youth group and Lamda. The staff are great and are very supportive of the children and offer them opportunities to be creative and gain many skills. I would highly recommend Flying high to other parents.

Flying High is a wonderful company that I have been part of for 12 years! I first joined when I was just 6 years old and now I’m in my last year at age 18. Flying High has provided me with the knowledge and skills that I can apply everywhere in life, including University applications and job interviews. My confidence has grown immensely since joining the company and I can seriously thank Carrie and the other tutors around me for helping me through this journey. The familial atmosphere of Flying High is incredible and I am so proud to be apart of the group. I have made friends for life!! Even when I took a short break to focus on my college work, upon rejoining the group, I was welcomed with open arms and excitement. I cannot recommend Flying High enough! Throughout my years at Flying High I have taken part in competitions as well as showcases where we get to showcase {surprise} our talents and what we have been working on over the course of the terms. I am now currently in Young Company, another group in Flying High open to young people aged 15+ and have performed twice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a 4* review in 2021!! It is safe to say Flying High has absolutely been an incredible experience for me and I am so proud to be apart of the team. The company has aided me through a lot of challenges and I now have the skills I will need to take with me to University this year. Thank you so much to Flying High and I definitely recommend to ANYBODY looking for a new, friendly and exciting opportunity!!

Flying high is a wonderful not for profit company. There are a range of groups on offer to be part of such as musical theatre, drama, dance etc and there are individuals of all ages in each so i’m sure you’ll find something to suit your fancy and friends to make on the way. I’ve been coming to flying high for almost six years now and am now planning on going to university this year so i’ve been at flying high during a big part of my teenage years. And through this i’ve not only developed my performance skills but life skills such as confidence and self belief. After taking a break during the pandemic I was welcomed back warmly by Carrie and other staff members which highlights the professionalism and commitment the team have at flying high; I’ve always felt, in all of the different groups I’ve been involved in, a nice sense of community and support from the staff working with us. I’ve had the privilege to be part of numerous productions and performed in so many different places and met so many different friends which has really broadened my perspective. I was even able to gain my LAMDA qualification with flying high and achieved a distinction in grade 6 and so if that’s something you’re interested in, it’s definitely worth taking a look at as I know flying high offer up to grade 8. On top of all of this I had the opportunity to perform at the Edinburgh fringe festival last summer and am planning on going again this year, this experience was absolutely fantastic and gave me so many more invaluable skills such as learning to live away from home, development in my social skills and independence and it was just a brilliantly way to spend my summer. This experience is offered each year to the young company which is something to look forward to. If you’re looking for a good group to be apart of I cannot recommend flying high enough.

Flying High is a fantastic community that I have had the privilege of being part of for ten years now! Starting when only a child, I am now in my final year of school ready to head of to university, something I feel so prepared for thanks to Flying High. Not only has Flying High helped me develop my performing skills it has also helped me develop my confidence, life skills and ability to look forward in life. Throughout my time at Flying High I have been part of a range of groups including theatre, singing and dance and all of them have been absolutely amazing with teachers with a great passion and sense professionalism. Having teachers and guests with insight experiences into the performing arts profession is another great benefit of going to Flying High. The sense of community and family at Flying High is one of the main things that has kept me coming for so long as Carrie has built and incredible atmosphere where we can feel safe to express ourselves and we have so many chances to meet people we may never have met (some of whom I hope to know for the rest of my life, flying high as defiantly made me friends for life). I am now a part of Flying High’s Young Company that offers the incredible opportunity to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, something I have looked forward to since joining. This year will be my third year going and I seriously believe that if parents or students themselves are looking for a performing arts group, this one and the opportunities it has to offer is an excellent choice!
