Doctors great. Reception staff good although supervisor extremely abrupt and rude. I will be making a formal complaint.
If I could give this practice negative stars I would.....the receptionists are ignorant, the doctors are less than useless (asides from doctor connelly)
Gave 5 stars exclusively for midwife Sharon Bunting. Sharon's exceptional expertise and genuinely caring nature transformed our breastfeeding journey. Despite seeing several midwives during and after our hospital stay, none could help my wife latch properly—instead, we were wrongly told our baby had a tongue tie. Sharon spent 1.5 hours patiently guiding my wife, showing how to achieve a painless, effective latch. Her detailed, thorough approach made all the difference. Sharon was kind, patient, and reassuring, explaining each step clearly. Thanks to her, breastfeeding became a comfortable, empowering experience. One exceptional professional like Sharon can restore faith in the system. We are deeply grateful. Thank you, Sharon!
Called the irwin practice today at 1040am. It took me 20mins to get through. The gp phoned me back at 1130 and has organised medication for me to be picked up before lunch. Excellent service. To wait 20mins on the phone to get through is not much considering in total i have been treated within an hour. Receptionist and gp were both professional and very helpful. Thank you
Have been a patient of the Irwin Practice for almost 50 years , both in Dunluce and Finaghy. The care I’ve received throughout that time has been excellent and none more so than in recent few years given the current situation of the NHS. Everyone I’ve been in contact with from receptionist, nurse , pharmacist, GP have all been courteous and professional. All healthcare is in crisis at this present time but I’m appreciative of the support I and my family have received. Obviously some areas could be improved on, especially trying to access an appointment via phone , and maybe going back to online booking for non urgent appointments might be worth considering, or email option but once you do manage to secure a telephone appointment the GP’s are always professional and caring. Despite the negativity from the media I think the staff provide an exceptional service under very difficult circumstances and I’m very appreciative. Evelyn Hamilton
Unfortunately you have to give 1 star to write a review. I didn't realise to be a receptionist all that was needed was to be rude and abrupt! Also maybe Drs should pass on what they tell their patients to the receptionists then they might be a bit more approachable and helpful.
Ive been with this practice for 20 years almost, my mum and Gran also used it. Great doctors, especially Dr Connelly who has such a great way with patients, and Dr Dallas, both talk plainly and to the point. They do call backs which saves on trying to get appointments. Highly recommended.
I was a former patient of this practice. They are awful; the receptionists have chats amongst themselves instead of answering phones or dealing with patients in front of them. The patient "care" is non-existent - I was prescribed the pill despite saying I have migraine with aura (you can't take the pill if you have this type); I was supposed to have a tonsillectomy, but due to an illness on the day it didn't go ahead and they never bothered to re-refer me. I moved away from them to a better practice (and sadly moved from that area so am now with another rubbish health centre). I don't know why our GPs are so rubbish here, but it needs to change, quickly. We are the customer and the care system is not working.
