You wouldn't know how close you are to the conurbation. Not huge but plenty to explore. Bird life varied and changes regularly with different visitors to the lake. When I visited a Mandarin Duck had taken residence as had a Great Egret
Beautiful tranquil nature reserve, perfect for peace and quiet with your dog,on a lead . Lots of ducks, swans and heron's and horses to see . Totally free to walk and ponder on a beautiful day! Open usually 10 -4pm
Beautiful place to walk. Small car park (no charge), lots of wildlife. Open till 4pm. Dogs must be kept on leads to protect the local wildlife. Quite muddy in places. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Nice flat walk around pool a few people there but not busy be even better in the summer.

Lovely small walk, about an hour in total, there's a variety of wildlife to see and hear. The walk itself was a little muddy in places, but easy to negotiate around.best part was to see herons nesting.
Lovely walk today, getting close to the wildlife. Good amenities and great for all ages. Bit muddy still in places but the team are doing a great job of trying to make all areas safe to walk on. Pleasantly surprised at this out of the way nature reserve. Will definitely go again, maybe see the peacock on the next visit instead of just hearing it.
Great space. Free parking, open until 4pm. Dogs can go, but must remain on a lead. In normal circumstances, toilets available. Tracks around the lake. 2x well constructed viewing platforms to see the lake and wildlife. Typical slow walk takes about 1hr. Well managed site.
