Brilliant service! It was my first time to buy a running shoe. Caroline met me and fitted me with the perfect pair of running shoes. She’s a professional, identified my needs and was extremely patient trying a few before I finally made my choice! No rush at all giving me all the time I need and offering me the best choices possible.
I'm a bit late leaving this as I told Will who served me just over 2 weeks ago that I'd leave a review after doing the park run in the trainers I'd just bought, but only just got around to doing the run today. These trainers have definitely been a huge help. Took a little getting used to that first week hit I've knocked just over a minute off my PB and ran 3 minutes faster than the last time I did it. Will was awesome, the treadmill and identifying my running style really helped. The trainers we picked out (he did a great job of offering me plenty of choice while taking into account the running analysis and my own feedback) have made a big difference in correcting my gait and I haven't got the shin splint pain after that I usually get. Would really recommend this place to anyone looking for running trainers and other equipment!

A fantastic shop full of gorgeous kit and wonderful staff. I felt the service I recieved last week when I visited with my son for his new runners was absolutely excellent. I was impressed with the staff knowledge of their stock and Elaine, who sold me an OMM waterproof running jacket was just brilliant! I felt totally empowered to make a decision and even better, she found me a bargain on the sale rail rather than selling me a full price one. It is one of the best bits of kit I have bought and I absolutely love it! Thank you Derby Runner and thank you Elaine!
Went in to get myself a new pair of running shoes as my previous ones had finally given up on me (also purchased from The Derby Runner, many many years ago). All the staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The lady who helped me try on at least 10 pairs was very patient and kept going until we found the right pair, shout out to her. Didn’t catch her name as she had to dash off to staff training but thank you for your fantastic service. Can’t wait to get out in my new running shoes!
Excellent service and a discount was included as we were part of a running group and buying multiple pairs. Will definitely go back when I'm ready for my next pair.

Wide selection of brands and shoe types (heel drops, different toe boxes, widths), treadmill and knowledgeable staff to help you out (although personally I preferred neutral to the recommended stability ones, after briefly trying them on a gym treadmill, and the shop allowed me to swap them). Not from Derby, but it's worth the journey to come here, for the service and to support a physical shop.
