   Delightful little speakeasy type bar, we only discovered it as the curly haired manager was playing the piano… but was hugely helpful and let us eat pizza in the bar, while offering any cocktail under the sun. Great place if you want a great experience, live music and very friendly clientele (even made some holiday friends after a few too many drinks!)

   Excellent, welcoming, relaxed. Good wine with reasonable cost per glass, £17 for two. Dogs welcome. Everyone who came in said hello and smiled. Lovely relaxing music. August has not lost his skill at providing a fantastic atmosphere. We'll done August good luck in New Year- stay safe. John and Kath Eadington

   Located right in the heart of Salcombe with views over the estuary, the Upper Rooms is a tastefully decorated suite that just gets it right. The bathroom is sizeable with both a bath and walk-in shower (which is lovely and powerful) with the sitting room providing a great area just to chillout. The mattress is lovely and comfortable and there is an abundance of plug sockets (very important thing in my book) But and this is a very big but, the Upper Rooms is only half the story, with the Estuary club being the icing on the cake. A warm and chilled out venue, you can sample a cocktail, a coffee or even a slice of homemade cake, all served up by the fantastic August and his able assistants Charlotte and Claire. If you are lucky you might even get a tune on the piano!

   Stayed in a lovely clean airy room right in the centre of Salcombe. Top bar in the evening with views over the estuary and great local company and hospitality - they even shared their pizza with us ! Looking forward to browsing the lovely candles and coffee we have been recommended. Great host in an idyllic location.

   August was a brilliant host (we stayed in the apartment above the bar for a weekend). Clean, bright, modern accommodation in an excellent location. The bar itself is cosy and fun. August will make you ANY cocktail you fancy which is great fun. Best bar in Salcombe.
