This firm acted for my buyers. The transaction was a ghastly nightmare which took five and a half months to get to exchange. The solicitor's behaviour was extraordinary. She asked for information from the Council twice, rather than all at the same time. It takes two weeks to get this information. The second lot of information requested was - when was the last fire drill and could she see the recent notices of intention. I had seen the latter and there was nothing that could materially affect the buyer. It took her two weeks to inform my solicitor that she was happy with the information received. This could have been assessed in five minutes. I thought we could finally exchange but a week later was informed by my solicitor that the buyer's solicitor had just told her that she still had to send out the report on title, see if the buyers were happy with it then get their deposit. This was almost five months after starting. The name Natalie Roberts was on the memo of sale but my solicitor mentioned Sarah Duncan.

I have had the misfortune of having to use CWC for settling an estate and the service has been terrible. A relatively simple case has taken over 18 months, so far, to resolve and the service has been terrible with no communication in the past 5 months despite regular emails and phone calls. Unprofessional and very costly is my experience of using this company and I would not recommend using them.

A recent property purchase at auction completed in plenty of time thanks to CWC Solicitors. Although there were complications Adrian and Lisa handled the situation efficiently and professionally. I will definitely be using them again and I have already recommended them to a friend who is selling and buying with limited time. I could not be more pleased with the service. Thanks CWC!

Unfortunately, we had a dreadful experience with CWC Solicitors. They were acting for the buyers of our flat and were consistently uncontactable, causing serious delays throughout the process. At times it felt like they simply didn’t care, ignoring calls and emails from their own clients. Their lack of communication and general incompetence nearly caused the sale to fall through entirely. What should have been a straightforward transaction dragged on for months longer than necessary. Absolutely appalling service.

Worst solicitors while doing a house sale. Easy money as an everyday occurrence for them but they continuously manage to get things wrong and hold up proceedings. I would use anyone else than these incompetent bunch.

They don’t even deserve one star. Had a terrible conveyancing experience with them from start to finish. It took 7 months and I nearly lost the house I was buying because of them. My solicitor was totally incompetent and just didn’t care. I complained to Liz and she made it clear that I was not allowed to change the solicitor dealing with my case. I was pretty much trapped unless I wanted to start the process from scratch again and lose a lot of money and also the house I was purchasing plus my sale. There was no option but to persevere and endure the nightmare. The amount of mistakes that were made was beyond a joke, even down to them emailing the wrong land registry email time after time which massively delayed my case. I could write an essay on the amount of incompetencies I had to endure. You couldn’t make it up!!! They even had the cheek to charge me nearly £800 on top of my estimated bill at the end despite the crazy amount of stress I was put through because of them. I had to constantly chase them and sometimes they wouldn’t even bother looking at my case or do anything for many weeks and at the beginning it was nearly two months. I thought loads would have been done, but after some phone calls I discovered to my horror that pretty much nothing had been done. There was hardly any chasing of land registry or anyone else for that matter. They quite simply didn’t care. I had to do all the hard work myself in the end and somehow through my perseverance and lowering myself to begging them, I finally moved by the skin of my teeth with only 3 days until my seller was pulling out as he had had enough of waiting. It then took them months and months to get them to sort and send the land registry forms for me so the house I bought was in my name and that was only after many emails of me asking to please send the forms to them. In the end one of the other offices from a different location sorted it for me and did it quickly and efficiently which was unexpected. It was a completely miserable, anxiety ridden, stressful, frustrating experience and not once was there any apologies. I never put in another formal complaint after as I thought it would be a completely pointless waste of my time. Still to this day I shudder when I see the words ‘Curtis Whiteford Crocker’ when I pass through Mutley Plain. It was 7 months of hell!!!

I had used Grace and Laura for a residential conveyancing matter and I was really impressed with their service, communication and professionalism throughout. I highly recommend them and will use them again. Thankyou.

I cant actually believe how rude and obnoxious this firm have been with me, making my first ever house purchase a living hell. Nearly a year into buying a house I have not moved into yet, these people will constantly ignore your emails and when you phone them they fob you off with we will look into your file and call you back, they never do. They make you feel like you're bothering them, they do NOT want to help you, can only assume the reviews saying otherwise must be written by their own staff because this firm must be AVOIDED at all costs!

A shame to see many reviews similar to mine. By far, one of the worst experiences I've had .Their customer service is terrible. I rang to query why things were taking so long and was told that if I rang again that the rate would be increased - and put down as "extra time". As this was only my second call over the space of a month to the solicitors, I was shocked. The customer service was terrible, if not one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Rude, obnoxious and extremely unpleasant to deal with every single time - regardless of who I spoke with. If you don't have the capacity to take on clients, then transparency is needed. Customers should not be left "in the lurch" feeling like they can't ask about what's going on regarding their own property sale. The reviews left are accurate. A real need to address what seems like a toxic culture within the organisation is needed. The estate agents who suggested I use them have also shared their concerns and assured me they will not suggest them in the future. That is the only positive to come out of this. Avoid.
