   I have attended Relate Nottingham a number of times with Jasmine over the last 6 months. I have nothing but positivity to say about my overall experience & whole heartedly recommend anyone seeking the relevant therapy to work with Relate. Reading some of the feedback, I feel there is an incredible injustice & can say with certainty the whole team put your needs & expectations as an absolute priority. From managing appointments to making payments, every step is simple, considerate & professional. I had not experienced any level of counselling/therapy in my 40 years other than binge-watching the TV show "Shrinking" a week before the first appointment. My sessions with Jasmine have been in person at Relate's office & I've always been greeted with a warm welcoming smile. Jasmine has a presence that immediately reassures that you are in very safe company to explore that journey of emotional vulnerability. This works perfectly with the environment of the room that she welcomes you into & she is calm, patient & positively thought provoking. My sessions with Jasmine has given me a new found boost of self-worth & helped me think about myself in a more positive way. For that reason, and many others, I highly recommend Relate.

   From May 2024, I have stepped in as the Chair of the Board of Trustees and since have made many changes, including centre management. Please be assured that our counsellors are highly trained and fantastic at their job. Our administrators are now highly trained and I can assure you the phone won't ring and ring anymore! I used Relate during my divorce and that is why I've come back to volunteer my time. It is very saddening indeed the service has dropped since then and clients have experienced this. I can assure you if you call Relate now, you will receive a 5 star service. Penny Strutton

   After Councillor didn't show we asked for a refund. 30 days later no reply phone just rings out. And if we hide our number they answer but hang up when they hear our name. Emails are ignored. It seems to be just a skimming website that books sessions for councillors for a cut but has no backup. Avoid like the plague

   Very disappointed with Relate, waste of my time and money. I needed to reconcile with my daughter. I was to contact her to get in touch with them which she wanted to do, so eventually there would be a joint meeting. When I asked if she had been in touch and aired her views I was told they couldn't tell me that it was confidential. The whole point was to reconcile and disappointed they didn't try.

   The counsellor I was paired with was great and my husband said the same for his. Communication from the admin team was horrendous, disorganised at best and rude at worst. Our availability changed because of how are work pattern changes across the year and they never fit us in for another appointment after that. When I chased it I was accused of being unreliable and not turning up to appointments, which never happened. I rearranged a couple of times due to illness. I was so shocked and infuriated by the email I received that didn't get back to them. My husband was seeing someone separately and the counsellor either forgot about the appointment or admin didn't tell the counsellor about the booking. Again, impossible to get another appointment after that. It's been months since our last appointment and we've not once been called or contacted to continue our sessions and I've not chased it because I'm not sure I want to give them any more money after the experience we've had. It's frustrating because we got to a good point to start having appointments together and still have a lot of work to do on this and have obviously paid for many appointments to get nowhere. Now I feel we have to start all over again somewhere else because this place was so poorly organised and managed.

   Our experience with Relate is different to a lot of these reviews. We were directed here by a local private Couples Counsellor we had researched in our area, who used to work for Relate, and could not fit us in at times around our working hours. We are so glad we looked at Relate to get some help. As with most industries post-pandemic, the counselling industry is bound to be even more stretched in the aftermath. In our case, it took a few weeks from registration for our initial appointment to be made, due to extremely high demand. We were a bit worried about waiting, but did not expect help instantly, with so many people looking for the same. Since we've started however, the help we've had, and are having, as a couple has been really fantastic. Our counsellor is a super nice person, and has lots of skill and experience to help us both as individuals as well as together, to work through issues we were finding quite difficult to sort out ourselves. We have had a long and happy relationship with its own ups and downs, but more recently (due to living and working together in our case), the help we are receiving to get us through the more difficult parts, is massively appreciated. Counselling with Relate can help with all sorts of issues for couples who want to try, but who feel a bit out of their depth. I would highly recommend to other people who would like some help with their relationship.

   Absolutely appalling service. After waiting weeks, we were given an appointment, only to find out after the session, we had in-fact simply been "squeezed in on a cancellation. The therapy session was extremely painful and then just left us hanging to go our own ways and wait for Relate to get back to us, this was 3 weeks ago. They have made a bad situation worse!

   Enquired via email, had a reply that came across quite rude telling me to call,called and left messages not one call back ,doesn't show me that you care about your clients at all especially when it's often hard enough to reach out in the first place

   Absolutely rude customer service, i called just to enquire about one thing and yet this woman spoke to me as if i was a dog! Rude and arrogant! I am not surprised they need customer service advisor as that woman should lose her job!! She's lucky she did not tell my name elsewhy i would have posted it here for all to know who this unreasonable person was.
