Already closing down but south Asian “security guard” just follows you around if you’re black with a puffer coat on (despite the fact that it’s 0 degrees). I confronted him very politely at the end saying you can’t just follow people around but he seemed to find it funny. Very disappointing because I like Poundland but some employees ruin the shoppers experience especially since he himself is NOT immune to racial prejudice.

Spoiled Milk, Zero Accountability – Poundland, You Let Me Down" Mitcham branch - Units 1, 3 Majestic Way, Mitcham CR4 2JS. duty manager name - venessa I’ve been shopping at Poundland for over 20 years — but after what happened recently, I’m honestly shocked. I bought a carton of milk from the [insert location] store, expiry clearly marked as 25 June, but when I opened it on 24 June, it had already curdled like yogurt and smelled awful. I kept it refrigerated the whole time, so it must have already been off when sold. When I went back to the store and calmly explained the situation, the shift manager Vanessa was rude, dismissive, and refused to exchange it. I even reminded her of the Consumer Rights Act — food must be safe and fit to consume — but she didn’t care. she was one sided, she did not even bother to check the temperatire of the fridge and check the sheet of temerpatuiure on 21 june . shocking !!!! Worse, a security guard stepped in unnecessarily and backed her up, making me feel embarrassed in front of others. Instead of checking if other milk might also be spoiled, she just shifted the blame onto me. This was more than just bad customer service — it felt like complete disregard for customer health and dignity. I expected better from Poundland. If this is how long-time customers are treated, it’s no wonder trust is breaking down. I hope head office reads this and takes action. The staff need serious retraining, and this branch needs oversight. I’ll also be raising this with Trading Standards. Poundland — do better. And call me to resolve this. Date of experience: 24 June 2025

Is this store closing down? The level of stock is so poor - empty shelves everywhere. I walked in and quickly walked out - nothing I wanted was in stock. How can you run a shop like this? I assume this is the typical management ploy to drive down footfall and justify closure. Worked for me - this is one less customer who won't be going back there!

I had a whale of a time when I arrived at Poundland Mitcham twice today between 4:13-4:18pm and 4:19-4:20pm when I finally found the 5th Jennifer Aniston DVD titled Office Space (1999) when it went missing from The Jennifer Aniston Collection (2006) Box Set since yesterday.
