Visited today with family. We were impressed at first, as we were greeted and seated and ordered drinks before we sat down. 3 of us had starters which were very nice and promptly delivered and feedback was sought by one of the waiters. Following this we had a very long wait for the plates to be cleared and our mains to arrive. We has 2 gammons which were neither horseshoe or 12 oz. They were so over cooked and almost like eating pork scratching, 1 chargrilled chicken, again over cooked. And 1 steak on a stone, which is the main pull of the restaurant, to cook it to your own liking on the stone. We were then asked to remove the steak and put it on the side plate and as this was causing too much smoke in the restaurant!!! We had to ask for sauces, and were then avoided. We never got asked if our meal was ok, or if we needed any other drinks. We would have at least liked to look at the deserts menu but we're never offered. When we told the waitress that we weren't happy with our meals she just made a flippant retort as she really wasn't listening. I would not recommend this place any more, it used to be really good, but we should have known as there was only a couple of other tables in. One of these tables had 3 steak on stones, and non were asked to remove their steaks???!!! Over priced and i can buy better meat in aldi!

Had a mega mixed grill to share not a challenge absolutely perfect. No rush just enjoyed the taste, and nice not to eat in a overly warm pub temperature was just right. Service was impeccable and staff were very accommodating, we drove from plymouth after our daughters graduation to there and was worth every mile.thanks cattlemans for making our day.

Firstly we turned up a couple hours earlier than we anticipated as we though our day was gonna be longer but the staff was amazing and managed to seat us down within 10 minutes which was great as we were a table of 6, love the theme of the place and the atmosphere was great, staff was friendly and helpful which was a plus. kids enjoyed watching a competitor take on one of there challenges. Food itself was good and not much got left behind but i would say it was over priced considering it is pub food at the end of the day and not a big fancy restaurant however no complaints on the food as everything was cooked.

Visited Wednesday 1st October about 1900 ISH. Just a walk in. They managed to seat us straight away and asked if we wanted drinks a good selection. They gave us plenty of time to browse the menu and explained the specials. We made our selections and waited. We were not disappointed nice and hot with plenty of flavor cooked how we like it. No issues with the food or service. Pricing was fair . Definitely worth a visit. Easy to find with plenty of parking.

If this review was based on the food alone, I would say the best around by far. The steak and ribs are divine. Unfortunately the staff let the place down massively, unprofessional and when i asked about the cocktails being advertised everywhere on posters, i get told "sorry we have run out"? But later finding out they were available. The deserts did look amazing, but had none left by the time we came to order (8pm). So disappointing. I really wanted to love it enough to justify the £100+ that was spent, but not sure we will be rushing back anytime soon.

Visited for lunch on their £5 menu they run on & Monday & Thursday. I had the pie of the day it was so delicious. They even accommodated for my dog by giving her a fresh bowl of water straight away & even going as far as bringing her some sausages whilst we were eating our lovely food. Will make it a weekly visit.

Recommend and travelled to eat there had 32oz sirloin steak came in 2 pieces fine both were so tough could not even chew pieces had to send back then when came back had 16oz rump was ok but chips were cold as tomato and no mushrooms. No appolagies the girls did not know what was going on and told when sending back I have to see what they say .... when spending £100 on a meal expect better food and service. When I went to pay guy at bar new nothing about bad food then said hope next time its better ...what..my friend had finished his meal before I eventually got mine. I never complain but this time it was crazy I do however think they should have at least come and asked if everything is OK. Sorry would not recommend this place and feel also I shouldn't have been charged for such poor food... friends steak was very good chips tomato cold..

Had a carvery on the weekend here. Not too bad. The staff were nice but there was a bit of a delay in telling us how we approach the carvery and the food was not the best i have had. I would still recommend it as lots of people would be satisfied by it but not for me.

We've been a few times now. The carvery is good value for money and they do kids, small adult and regular adult. Everything is nice and hot and the staff are amazing. Also, they're happy to let dogs in. On a Sunday, if you don't want the carvery they do have other menu options, and through the week they're offering some meals for £5 for a limited time each day. Kids are welcome and there is a play area and plenty of parking.
