Amazing fish and chips! Large portions, reasonably priced and very quick, even with cook to order. They let us sit inside, despite the seating area being closed. Very friendly people - highly recommended!

This was the best chippy in Totnes & now it is the only one. It is situated at the bottom of town, in a lane next to the "Seven Stars" hotel. It's a family owned / run business & has consistently produced great quality food for decades. The best thing (in my opinion) that they make are their fishcakes. Not the usual small, thin offerings but large beauties, made using their grandmother's recipe. There are indoor & outdoor seating areas plus the take-away option. The staff (who are father & his sons) are always friendly & great cooks.
I have been going to the silver grill since I was a kid .... it always serves amazing food and always has very reasonable prices ..
They are either "gone fishing" or selling fish. I highly recommend the fishcakes. One of those a week makes my taste buds tingle. Excellent old local shop btw.
Genuinely the best chippy I've been to - the fish batter is absolutely perfect. Great value considering the price of oil at the moment. Absolutely amazing!!
Decent local chippy, the chips are better than the fish. My only suggestion is they use a different wrapping on the chips as every time I get it home the paper is so thin it is stuck to the chips and I have to use a knife to cut the side off some chips.
