doors are locked all day - so you always need an employee to let you in - they must lose so much business from this. they also insist you get a co op card and scan it at the till without your permission - or mentioning that its a 1 pound charge. way more expensive than the sainsbury thats closer to bermondsey street
This supermarket could be really good. But unfortunately it’s not. There are regularly many empty shelves, even for basic items like tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes etc. It’s just not well Managed. Also, there is a major problem with shoplifting. This is probably driven by the St Mungos hostel a few meters down the road. Disappointing.
Great store where can do my shopping daily! Management has to do something about thefts… this store getting slammed daily by thieves… poor workers can even do anything …. They just claim to insurance - that means residents premium is going up, just cause area is high theft rate… not fair..
Cooperative at Bermondsey - Crimscott Review This small store may have limited space, but it offers a decent range of products that lean towards medium to upper entry labels. While the variety in brands is somewhat limited, you’ll find that quality is well represented throughout the selection. The undeniable highlight is the hot bread and daily pastries—freshly baked and sure to brighten any morning. Adding to the pleasant shopping experience is the super helpful staff, who are always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, a solid experience with a few minor limitations, earning a 7/10 rating.

New and fresh and has a lot of sale items expiring on the same day. Staff are very friendly
Tidy, always quiet and so discreetly branded on the outside that I suspect most nearby residents don’t even realise this supermarket is here (the nearby Sainsburys and Tesco get plenty of foot traffic). It would help if it wasn’t within a mini industrial estate, but perhaps Co-op are just ahead of the game as the factories are slowly all turned into brand new apartment towers. If you live local this store is well worth adding to your radar!
Nice to have another supermarket in the hood. This one is nice and fresh and new and clean. Staff seem very nice and friendly. The prices of goods seem a little high; there is a good selection of wine, which seems quite reasonably priced. There are some nice higher end codes in the store which is good to have in the immediate vicinity. I think they’re still finding their feet in terms of what they need to stock and how much.
