Nothing to do with service. We had our dog there for only 4Hrs got charged £20, prices have gone up massively and for what? Other kennels do it for much less. Hayes Farm was £10 for the whole day and their service was just as good. So no prises for where we going next time we need a kennel

My dog Jake was very well looked after, he was clean & didn't have a kennel smell at all. Will certainly use again .

Purchased a 9 week old cocker spaniel pup from Ian a couple of weeks ago and she is a delight, I can tell that Ian had spent a lot of time with her starting her lead training and teaching her to retrieve a ball which has progressed to her finding hidden balls. We have received her pedigree papers with no problems. Ian was a pleasure to deal with and I know he is at the end of the phone if we need any further help or advice.

(Original review posted on Facebook) This review is about the breeding side of Linby rather than the kennels/boarding. We recently purchased a 13 week old fox red Labrador puppy from Ian, paying a fairly exorbitant price for a "part trained pup". And yes, she is doing the basics nicely. However, I think she has spent the majority of her pup life in one of the kennel runs outside so needs a lot of work with house-training, which I would expect to be further advanced at her age (certainly our previous pups of this age were all clean in the house so we are well aware of the best methods to use and are working hard on that now). We certainly would have had her clean by now, had she been with us from 8 weeks. Ian is a very pleasant chap but unfortunately he has been very evasive about why our pup is not Kennel Club registered and despite asking the question numerous times, we do not get an answer. We assume it's because of the number of litters already whelped by her mother and the fact our pups litter would have exceeded the number of litters recommended by the KC. Ian has refused to answer this question and simply repeatedly replied that our pups parents are KC registered (and he provided their relevant health checks). We now accept he will not respond to this question and sadly, this does suggest that there is a degree of 'over-breeding' going on at Linby, hence the reason I felt compelled to publish a review. Linby do breed from quite a few different breeds of dog and they all appear to live outside in kennels. None appear to be family dogs. I wouldn't go quite so far as to use the words "puppy farm" but there certainly seems to be a level of breeding which exceeds a recommended level. Again, our dog seems very nervy of other dogs and people so I'm not sure how much socialising she's done, despite her advert claiming she had been socialised with all sorts of other birds, animals, children etc. This does not appear to be the case. To reiterate, Ian is a pleasant guy but we have definitely paid over the odds for a dog who cannot be Kennel Club registered, despite her pedigree lineage. I only post this review as I know I would have appreciated such information at the time we were searching for a pup. We love our pup very much and have no regrets but do feel a little "cheated" in terms of clarity of information given and integrity of breeding at Linby.

We tried to contact the breeder several times last year to enquire about a litter of pups he had just listed on Preloved (listed literally a few minutes before we messaged). Being a responsible owner, we wanted to know more about the health and upbringing of these supposedly amazing (and hugely expensive) puppies! We asked about the hip/eye/elbow scores for the parents, the pups general health, how much they were socialised given that they were meant to be pets but seemed to be bred in outdoor kennels?!?! We also asked if we could come and view both parents as the advert said they had bred the pups (along with many other litters of different breeds onsite). I felt that these were perfectly reasonable questions for any prospective buyer to ask, but our message was ignored. We sent the message again several times over the coming days and all were ignored. The breeder had obviously seen the messages as he continued to list many different litters at the same time and as the ad didn't contain a phone number, messaging would have been the only way to contact him (so no way that he didn't check his messages). From reading other reviews, I realise that my suspicions were correct and I'm glad I walked away. This breeder creates very fancy ad's, telling you how amazing his litters are and why they deserve the (frankly ridiculous) price tag but then doesn't want to actually answer any questions on what you're getting for your money. Any decent breeder would be only too happy to answer ANY question about the pups. These unregistered pups are not worth nearly £1000!! Prospective buyers beware!

Lovely clean place. Very nice people. When I picked my dog up he hadn't spotted us, he was happy wagging his tail. This gave me happiness knowing he was I happy. I had never used kennels before. We are going to be using them again.
