One of our cats needs regular check ups and medication, the vets and nurses he sees go out of their way to make sure he is calm and comfortable, and always explain things to us thoroughly. Appointments are easy to make and the reception staff will are happy to find something that will work for your schedule. Ordering medication is also really simple with a quick call and a collection.”

“I love this shop, I have used it for many, many years! A lovely independent pet store that is ran by lovely people. Well stocked too! I have always brought all of my pet food here (I have had a few pets over the years.) Rabbit, snake, chickens, hamsters, gecko, cat, dog and fish...they have all been fed by food from Chambers! My dog loves the hairy cows ears and the puffed pig noses. I get my dog food here too as their own brand is not full of rubbish like the 'main brands' you buy in a supermarket! If you want natural treats for your dogs rather than the ones full of fillers and sugar then this is the place.”

“Hair of the Dog has the most wonderful staff who give beautiful grooms to my very anxious, difficult, huge poodle. Helene is so friendly and the service is flexible, plus the parlour is gorgeous, always very clean, with water and treats available for my pup. He actually gets excited to visit Hair of the Dog, whereas he's only been scared of other groomers in the past. If you want your doggie to come home happy and smelling fantastic for an incredibly reasonable price, there's nowhere better. Thank you Helene!”

“Our two dogs have just had a three night stay and have had the most fantastic time. We and the dogs received a very friendly welcome from Neil who put our minds at ease instantly. Neil was amazing with the dogs and we were happy to see how relaxed they were with him and in their new surroundings. We received videos every day of them walking in the stunning grounds and playing with the other dogs who were staying. The luxury suite they were staying in was immaculate and they have come home very happy and exhausted dogs from all the playing and attention. I would not hesitate to recommend Barton Pet Hotel.”

“Amazing pet shop. Rang up today for some advice about dry dog food for my puppy and they was so helpful and put my mind at ease straight away. I then visited the shop and they was really patient with all my endless questions being a new puppy mummy. Staff very helpful and polite and offered samples first my puppy to try. I bought their own brand puppy food called olivers for my very fussy picky poodle and she loves it. Thank you ladies your a life saver. Shop is really good too and stocks lots of pet items everything you need under one roof. Not like other pet shops that don't care or know their stuff. These ladies definitely know and offer great advice. Thank you.”

“I rescued a beautiful but injured racing pigeon (broken leg) that I spotted sitting in the middle of Lady bay brdge with cars swerving all around it, wheels only inches from its vulnerable body. Having gently placed it in a box in the back of my car, I phoned all the wildlife rescue centres in the area, mostly getting nowhere (although one did phone back an hour later). I eventually spoke to someone who told me my local vet was obliged to treat wildlife (although in this instance, there was an owner) so I took it to V4P. I have since learned that the bird is undergoing treatment, is being rehabilitated and will be reunited with its owner. I'm so happy that this bird has a second chance at life. It would not have survived without mine or the V4P practice intervention. I am told that this practice does regularly treat wildlife and does not automatically euthanise unless it is the kindest thing to do. Thank you to the team!”

Sleeping accommodation is always goid(beds are very comfortable)rooms are spacious and the soundproofing and slow enclosing doors mean you will not get woken up by anyone returning in the early hours. Food choice is very good as is the food quality and I would challenge anyone the not only beat their breakfast but beat it for value as well. Yep I win. Some people may be put off that it is away from the bustle of the city but let me assure you, the parking is fantastic here and the transport links are excellent, you are within 15 minutes you are in the city by bus. I have stayed here before and I am booked to r back here again in a couple of weeks time.”
