Great location with parking not too far from the city centre. Pleasant, friendly pub to visit on site with great food, both for dinner and breakfast time, along with some good ales at the bar. The only negative was the basic bathroom in our family room, with cheap toilet paper, a 1970’s style shower curtain and no proper shampoo!

Pros: room was clean and beds comfy. Staff very pleasant and helpful, breakfast tasty. Quiet as hotel block separate from pub. Cons: Room smelt strongly of drains. Evident water damage on ceiling and wall, could also hear dripping water occasionally. Reported to staff who responded very professionally and said would look into it. Was ok for one night we were staying but would have not wanted to stay longer.

Staff are always friendly in the pub/resteraunt. Sleeping accommodation is always goid(beds are very comfortable)rooms are spacious and the soundproofing and slow enclosing doors mean you will not get woken up by anyone returning in the early hours. Food choice is very good as is the food quality and I would challenge anyone the not only beat their breakfast but beat it for value as well. Yep I win. Some people may be put off that it is away from the bustle of the city but let me assure you, the parking is fantastic here and the transport links are excellent, you are within 15 minutes you are in the city by bus. I have stayed here before and I am booked to r back here again in a couple of weeks time.

Check in was awkward in the bar and my room was disgusting. It was dirty, noisy and smelt. The bathroom sink had remnants of an oily substance in it which I cleaned with sanitizer before I could use it. The bed was lumpy and hard and the carpet filthy - I didn’t dare walk around bare foot. On the second day my key card didn’t work so I had to go back to the bar reception where I was ignored for almost 20 minutes. I even tried phoning the main help line to try and get served!! I ate in the pub on Saturday 27th after an extremely long day only to be made to feel awkward and vulnerable as a woman dining alone. The food was disgusting and expensive. The meal had clearly been left under heat due to the rubber like skin on the mash and the over cooked veg. I would not recommend this place at all. Waste of money with hardly any sleep for 2 nights.

Good breakfast - be careful when ordering a full English - otherwise you could get more than you bargained for! Good rooms. A little close on one side but the beds are extremely comfy. All the rooms are identical. There is a separation between the pub and the sleeping part of the establishment so there is little noise. Not sure about dogs but we did see one in the bar area. We went for a wedding which was perfect.
