Finding it can be a bit confusing since there's a large sign saying Poundland has closed - but the new place is only a stone's throw from the old one. The staff are hard to find but helpful. And they have a good range of items including hardware, stationary and even food. Great place for tidbits like watch batteries etc.
There is a old lady with blonde Hair at the Cassier who treat customers very rude . today I wanted to buy for my son 2 toys and she very rudely took a toy and threw it away without saying anything, I was shocked. I asked her why and she pretended not to hear. She asked me if I wanted the carrier bag and I said yes, and at the end when I paid she didn't give me the bag, she didn’t listen to customers. She scared my son with her attitude, I will never ever go again to this shop, specially in BARKING. She has to be tested, mentally. I had a very nice morning until I go in there .
I went shopping this morning, I was treated so badly that I can't explain I never felt so bad The woman at the cash register is behaving badly to customers, even though I told her my English is not that good, she tells me something I want to pay by card, but I told her that I couldn't understand, and then she raises her voice and connects me again. I left my receivables in the safe, if you keep such people there, you will lose more customers. This is not true for all of them.
Ok I guess.. might get the odd bargain. Q: why have six tills if you only ever staff two?
Beware, the last 3 times I have shopped there I have been overcharged on items. The shelf prices do not always match what you pay at the till. In each occasion I have been overcharged on items that were displayed as £1 on the shelf but then charged £1.50 or £2 at the till. Some items also have no price displayed on the shelf. I checked the price of one such item on their website where it said it was £1, but when I went to pay I was charged £2. When I quired this with the manager he lied about why there was a price difference stating sometimes items are cheaper to buy from the website. This is a lie as you can't purchase items from the website. I raised a complaint with their head office but they were very dismissive and eventually after I emailed a second time agreed to get the district manager to raise matters with the store. Won't be shopping there again due to this.
There are lot of items which are priced very reasonable. Please try once

Yesterday around 6:20 I needed help and support and asked a question to one of the staff named ruby. Her customer service was absolutely disgusting and very rude and aggressive this was the worst experience I have had. She started yelling at me saying “can’t you see are you blind” and starting slamming the items on the shelf. Very disappointed with the behaviour of this staff. Seems like she has bipolar disorder. Never will shop in barking Poundland again because of this very rude ruby lady.
