after the tide, pools are formed in the rocks, a spectacular place, you have to be careful on the rocks

We visited the Treyarnon rock pool mid May. The tide was falling when we arrived and it wasn’t accessible from the beach yet so we climbed down from the coast path. This was fine in decent rubber-soled swim shoes and we had the rock pool to ourselves. The water was cold but once we were in it was lovely (we had short wetsuits) it is deep in the middle (2metres?) and the kids were able to jump feet first off the rocks. Once the tide was out everyone and their dogs came round from the beach and we decided to head home. Toilets by the car park were shut but there are some at the YMCA

Easy access from beach, clear and lots of deep mermaid pools too

Great surprise find out along the North side of the beach. Plenty of room with just a bit of a scramble up the rocks to get to it. Spotted some old exposed ironwork where the pool was held in with cement (at least it's been bent over) - otherwise it looks pretty safe to swim in.
