Asset to the Borough. Still has a dog foul bio hazard problem. Those irresponsible owners are a minority. Still a great park to visit.
Gideon’s Green in Newtownabbey is hands down one of the best places to go for a walk. Whether you’re out for a peaceful solo stroll, walking the dog, or enjoying time with family, the scenery is stunning and the atmosphere is incredibly calming. The paths are well-kept, with beautiful views over the water and plenty of spots to sit and take it all in. It’s a real gem for anyone who enjoys the outdoors highly recommended for a breath of fresh air and a bit of tranquility right on the edge of the city.
Great place for a walk, great for dogs and the beach on your doorstep.
Great little spot. A few picnic tables and parking spaces, very cosy. You can sit and watch the birds flock on the water. It has a circular pathway leading to Hazelbank. I use it as my turning spot when returning to to Whiteabbey. Good view of Cavehill.
Walk all the way from Gideon's Green to Jordanstown passing Hazelbank with great views over the lough.
Park at the White House car park a path takes you throughGideons green and under the motorway towards Hazel Bank beside Belfast lough. It’s very popular with walkers runners cyclists and families.

A beautiful place to be - a place of quietness yet so close to the heavy traffic close by. The Whitehouse Lagoon is stunning.
