   We had a great visit overall. There’s no service charge added, so we tipped because the staff earned it rather than hinting for it. We did wait for our food, but they handled it well - gave my sushi side dish for free. Richard was lovely - friendly without being annoying, took our coats when we arrived and brought them back at the end. The main dish portions are huge, so definitely come hungry. The place was a little loud, but to be fair it was really busy, so that’s understandable.

   We have Wakame Udon (with a poached egg) and katsu curry. Both were absolutely delicious! They do a small bottle of prosecco for a reasonable price, and the beer is fresh if a little pricey. It's a shame they didn't have a large size Sapporo but overall good selection. Service was prompt and polite, so nothing really wrong about Murasaki!

   Pre-booked dinner here when all the well known restaurants in Brighton were unavailable. What a great decision that turned out to be. Friendly staff with the right level of attentiveness and reassuringly aware of the menu with my allergy. Lots of space in a relaxed setting and trendy neighbourhood. The food was incredible, especially the salmon hosomaki, prawn tempura, pumpkin korokke and tempura ice cream which was to die for. Will 100% be returning when next in Brighton.

   Possibly our favourite Japanese restaurant in Brighton. We’ve only been to Japan once but to us it seems so authentic and reminds us of that trip. Brilliant selection on the menu and always lovely service.
