Be careful who you employ as an over zealous security guard…. It can completely ruin your brand. 3 hours ago I left my house to walk to the theatre and at that point in my life, I loved Tesco. I worked at Tesco bank in Edinburgh for 2 years and have spent at least £75k a year on my tesco credit card for 15/20’years. I walked in to this store, that at one time closed at midnight Fri & Sat night, at a few mins to 11 feeling completely normal. I’m now thinking?? Where was the store manager? The security guard looked at his watch as I walked in. Gave me the beady eye? And then… at 11:00 & 49 seconds he announced I couldn’t have the wine?? 1 bottle and lots of other groceries? I laughed and said … are you real?? He told me licensing laws restricted him from selling me wine at 11:00 & 49 seconds?? I left everything and double checked he knew I was going to do this?!? It’s all about behaviours for me. Maya Angelou once said …. I'll always remember how you made me feel". Her quote emphasises the lasting impact of emotional experiences, suggesting that people tend to recall how someone's actions or words made them feel more than the specific details of what was said or done. So … what next? Step forward store or area manager and show your true customer colours? I wasn’t warned as I entered the store that you’d changed your hours? If you defend this guy you tell the world this is the behaviour they can expect from any Tesco store? If that’s the case it’s time for us all to find a new supermarket, (incidentally, I’m walking to Waitrose at the minute. Haven’t been for ages. Love Waitrose). The day the security guy over rules the store manager is worth exploring too?? At 8pm yesterday this guy was at Prince of Wales store. I talk to people. I spoke to him on my way home from a train from London. I said hello. He asked how I was. We had a quick chat. He was ok then. But clearly had other ideas tonight? The best companies are always the ones that show compassion and are real in situations where, it happens, people screw up. It’s in your court Tesco. No one doubts a security guard and tries to reason. I walked away. How long I’ve walked away for is up to you. Show the people in this area you care and that they can depend on you… when they may be a minute late. If we can’t. We’ll happily be better prepared and go elsewhere.

Poor layout and cramped resulting in unnecessary queues. A bit pricey. Friendly staff from my experience. Decent range. Good selection of fresh veg. Very average overall.

Just been accused of shop lifting when paying on Apple Pay. Won’t be using here again in a hurry. Security guard was friendly polite and professional. Checkout operator - was less so.

I'm in basically daily for the meal deal at lunch. It's a small store and it's bit cramped, but it's cramped because it's very well stocked up and is popular with the locals and lots of passing traffic. Only time I've known a problem was down to supply issues which they can't help (the great crisp shortage of 2021) Most of the staff I see are friendly and will have a laugh.

It's certainly convenient but it's laid out poorly. The aisles are too narrow so with just a few customers browsing it can feel quite congested. Empty shelves seem quite common here and it sometimes feels a bit messy. I've also had poor experiences with fresh fruit and veg from here. Often doesn't last long.
