Had food here with colleagues and iit was incredible. I got the steak (which tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection). And most of my work colleagues got chicken... which looked amazing. I'll definitely be returning.

Fabulous hotel I always stay here when working in Northampton as far more superior and better value than all the other town centre competion. Lovely staff excellent rooms and extremely clean hotel throughout. Nice bar area to relax after a hard day. 10/10 Neil Winstone Alfriston East Sussex

We booked for quite a large birthday celebration with people travelling to meet in the middle. None had been here before so we had gone on the reviews. When I arrived I asked if I could decorate the table, which staff were more than happy with. When we saw the position of the tables and that people would of had their backs to one another we weren’t happy, I asked if the tables could be moved they said yes, so we did it, with no help offered. Unfortunately because of where we were positioned in the bar area, instead of the restaurant area we could only move the one table to accommodate us all. We asked if there were more tables but apparently they were all booked out that night. The food was beautiful and we were all very impressed so well done to chef and all the kitchen staff. The younger waitresses were attentive and seemed happy and helpful. Unfortunately the manager on that night wasn’t the same and quite off at times. Especially when last orders were called. We’d booked this for our sons surprise 30th months prior. There wasn’t enough staff on duty and they couldn’t wait to get rid of us and were quite rude by the end of the evening. This would have been a great place for us to meet again as it’s half way between us all. But I don’t think we will be staying or visiting again because of this experience. It’s a shame, could have been the perfect place.

I took my mum here for mother's Day The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was nice The food was really good and you got quite a lot on your plate. The price was really good not as expensive as I thought it would be. The staff were very friendly and helpful and food was served quite quickly and was nicely presented on the plate. All in all a very nice meal out. The car park was a bit tight due to the odd shape but there is some more parking over the road.

I'm going to be honest, this review has given me a problem, because I really want to give this establishment a wholehearted 5⭐ rating, but I can't. The chef is clearly a very talented chef, everything was cooked to perfection. The dishes were presented superbly and I'd already eaten them with my eyes before a morsel had touched my tongue. The service is sublime, the staff are always at hand when you need them, but aren't hovering, which is a difficult balance to achieve. The prices a perfectly acceptable for this quality of food and service. My partner had the goats cheese starter, butternut risotto & sorbets for dessert all of which were excellent. I had the pigeon breast, followed by the beef sirloin and crumble to finish. So, you maybe asking if all this was the way it was, why isn't it 5 stars? Well unfortunately, the pigeon breast, although superbly cooked, lacked the gamey depth of flavour I associate with pigeon. It was quite flavourless, which being the hero of the starter, it shouldn't have been, hence for me personally, it wasn't a 5 star experience. If I could give them 4.5 stars I would. We will certainly be back and I wholeheartedly recommend The Hopping Hare to anyone who want a fantastic meal. Oh, the crumble topping has to be tried to be believed, absolutely fantastic!

My wife and I stayed overnight at the Hopping Hare at the beginning of January for my birthday. We had a fantastic experience, the hotel is very clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful and gave us a drink on the house to celebrate my birthday which was a really nice touch. We had dinner in the evening and the food was outstanding! Compliments to a very talented chef. This was the most amazing food that I have eaten in a long time. An incredibly tasty meal with excellent presentation which was a culinary delight. I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

We have just returned from a three night stay at The Hopping Hare and it was just fantastic. Our room (12) was just perfect, lovely decor and spotlessly clean. A lovely selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate along with a fresh bottle of water and biscuits every day was a really welcome touch. And the breakfasts….just gorgeous. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here. If I ever go back to Northampton again, I won’t even be looking for anywhere else to stay, it will be here!

Long long time since I came here and the standard of food has not diminished. Our regular Ladies night out, one with GF allergy and we had the best food experience in a while. Staff were accommodating and friendly, service was excellent.
