   Scampi's lacks the quality of say Shilingford's, and strays away from the classical chippy in many ways, however retains relative affordability, convenience, and a style of its own. The chips here are not the typical chip shop chips, they are smaller type chips- not fries, but a synthesis of fries and chip-shop chips. This means the chips have more surface area meaning that salt and vinegar seasonings are tasted more. However, it does make the chips greasy and many people prefer proper chips than the type Scampi's offers. Scampi's is in a very convenient location being next to Victoria Gardens Bus Stops and close to Alderman Davies school. Expect to wait in a queue, usually with noisy children, if you wish to order from here. The price for medium and large chips are as follows; £2.50 M, £3.00 L as of the publication of this review. These prices are basically the same as in others chip shops. The meal deals here are surprisingly reasonably priced for example a medium chips with a sausage and a sauce of your choice is £4.50. However, the chips and portions are smaller than in other places. I found prices related to fish also reasonable and the sausage and chips cone for £2 is good for those with children. In conclusion, Scampi's is a medium range chip shop, exclusively takeaway, that lacks quality in most of its food but is nonetheless favoured by some people for it's smaller chips and affordable prices. As far as chip shops go it is a dependable, but not praise-worthy, 3/5. Additionally, It's closing times are quite early so having chips with your friday pint is not an option sadly. For this 1 mark could be deducted as the questionable early closing times loses the establishment money and the customer liberty.

   Recently been taken over by new owners and the quality has improved massively. Amazing new deals every week, the food is divine and Shane always has new recipes, what an amazing cook he is. My go to takeaway now no matter what.

   Sorry the poorest chips ever. Went in for my daughter to have chips. They poured chips from the heater section into a wrapped take away. When she opened it it was just cold hard chips. Mostly the ones thrown away. Don't waste your money here.

   The taste was great, shame the chips weren't a little bit more crispier and the batter on the sausages look a bit neamic could do with a bit more colour and the pickled eggs were not very pickled, other than this the price is great and the presentation of the place very clean and the atmosphere friendly.

   Terrible quality fish & chips. Food was cold and batter soggy. Didn’t taste fresh at all. Staff weren’t friendly either. Don’t waste your money. For the prices they are charging I would definitely go elsewhere!!

   Absolutely terrible, I came out of the con club about 4 and fancied some fish and chips. The chips were soggy and greasy, the fish was cold and the batter fell off. £8.80 trust me go to the model Windsor Road, cheaper and 100% better.

   Food was shocking chips were soggy and soaked in fat and pie was still cold in the middle.. I went here as the ratings were good. Walking home I passed the chip shop called Leon's which have no ratings and the food looked some much more appetising and value for money. Won't be coming back here.
