We recently visited Uplands Diner twice and had a fantastic experience from start to finish both times. The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and family-friendly — perfect for a relaxed meal. What stood out immediately was the fast service. Our food and drinks arrived quickly, which is always a plus, especially with kids. As a family who follows a halal diet, we were so pleased to see a wide range of clearly marked halal options on the menu. I ordered the halal chicken dinner, and it was absolutely delicious — well-seasoned, tender, and served in a generous portion that was very filling. My partner had the rump steak cooked well done, also available as halal, and it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly how they requested. Our kids were equally happy with the halal kids’ meals, which were thoughtfully prepared with great taste and just the right portion size. It’s not always easy to find family restaurants that cater to halal diets, so this was a big win for us. The drink selection is another reason we’ll be returning. The caramel frappe was creamy and rich, and the passion fruit drink was incredibly refreshing — fruity with the perfect balance of sweetness. We also tried a couple of smoothies, made from real fruit and full of natural flavor — a healthy and tasty treat. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu and halal preparation. Their hospitality really added to the overall experience. Uplands Diner is now one of our go-to places for halal food, family meals, and quick service. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something refreshing to drink, it’s a place that truly delivers on quality and care. Highly recommended!

I used to visit the diner quite often when I lived in Swansea. I called back this weekend with a few friends — breakfast was awesome! Great value, friendly service, and a really good atmosphere. I would totally recommend this place.

I had the "healthy habit" with very fishy tasting brown edged salmon. The avocado was brown and blimey (I am aware it goes brown quick but should not be slimey) the rocket had seen better days and the poached eggs had gone cold whilst being snotty. Not once did anyone ask why I only took 2 bites and pushed it aside. I used to love the food here but hadn't been for some years. I'm afraid, I won't be back

I heard this place made great breakfast and lunch and decided to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised! The customer service was lush when we entered, tables were clean and the place was neat. They had a wide selection of food available on their menu and plenty of halal and gluten free options, not to mention the food was great! Would recommend

Cheap sausages .tiny portion of beans .no toast with my husband breakfast .travelled for this .never again .was much better before they closed down and done phone orders only .then reopened with less tables .more chaos as all staff busy with phone and online orders .really gone DOWN HILLSIDE MONEY GO TOBY OR HARVESTER HALF THE PRICE

We stayed a couple of doors away for the air show, had a lovely breakfast. Was greeted with a smile by a male member of staff. Other staff were very attentive and friendly. Full English Breakfast was delicious and just enough for me with small appetite, open kitchen, very busy chefs but very clean, hygiene was good. Will definitely return when in the area again.

Been coming to uplands diner for many moons.. never fails to deliver a superb breakfast or anything else you order from their most excellent menu, they have a halal section of foods too which shows how organized and up to date they are... the only reason I don't give 5 stars is that i can never gurantee to get a table as they are usually super busy which says all you need to know really... Will be back again and again even though I'm clean eating.. And yes they do healthier options than your regular breakfast.. you could have avocado with poached eggs for example to a Welsh breakfast with lava bread and cockles... thinking about it more I should really give 5 stars...
