   Came here earlier today and many many other times in the past. Food is 10/10 as well as service and staff but i have to rate it 1 star for one reason, it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING!!! I walked in and it felt colder in there than it was outdoors (it was 5 degrees outside). I could see that the young girl working behind the counter had a couple layers on by her sleeves and she still seemed to be really cold. I love this place and have been coming for years but I thought it was time I finally said about how bloody cold it is in the winter, it’s not right to let the workers work in that temperature for hours everyday (and I don’t actually think it’s legal either). Not going to stop coming here because of this if course and I will still completely recommend it to other as it’s definitely the best chip shop in the area but I just think they need to get a heater out front for the workers especially but also actually the customers!!

   Average chips, average curry sauce and average sausage. But wasn't offered salt and vinegar which I didn't even think about until I got home with it!! Also cash or bank transfer only, come on, HMRC are coming for small businesses 2026!

   Without any doubt, the best fish & chip shop in the area. Chips cooked to perfection, with a golden brown, classic chip colour, and very tasty! Fish is always lovely as well, and always cooked to order when I go there. Would highly recommend!

   All beautifully cooked to order. Homemade mushy peas were very special. Chips were as good as they get, and the cod and sausages, perfect.

   Food is excellent, staff are great, BUT stopped accepting card payments so cash only since 22nd July 2024. While waiting for my fish to be cooked 8 people came in and 4 walked out due to cash only, the business won't survive very long if they don't reverse this mistake. There are signs up blaming card fees, but as a local business owner myself it's only 25p + 2% per transaction. Chish n Fips on Angel Road increased their sales 300% when they introduced card payments on our recommendation 3 years ago. Are the owners are just trying to avoid paying tax by hiding their profits from HMRC?

   Terrible experience tonight, first time ever ordering from this place and would be our last. Order was Large and small cod and large and small chips. Fish, definitely not cod, horrible taste; like mud, in my opinion it was pangasius. My partner said it was pollock. One of the two but tasted absolutely horrible and the chips was undercooked and soggy. Never again!

   I came in here on 22nd July to buy fish & chips for my aunt & decided to have a Saveloy, chips & curry sauce for myself. Not only were the portions small, but I was overcharged by nearly £2. I was told there are far better chip shops around, so won't be eating from this shop again.
