Excellent place to stay. Fantastic service and hosts. They can't do enough for you. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Budget rooms but clean and very comfortable.

Visited during a quiet period, so no idea on how things are when busy. Prompt, friendly service, didn't have too long to wait for food. Surprisingly good mid-strength own brand lager to complement the burger I opted for..out of 10 the burger gets 11, how they unlock the flavour of a simple burger is black magic effery at its finest. Chips were awesome. The wife opted for Mexican veggie option. Lovely theme throughout...weirdly on the day of visit, Annie Oakley's rifle was up for auction just down the road in Battle...small world.

Went here for my first time tonight as always wanted to eat here well what a let down with the whole experience. The starter where ok but when it came to the main meal I ordered steak and ribs when the waiter put it down on my table I could smell a strong odor of ammonia coming from the plate so I picked plate up and smelled the food and the steak nearly made me sick with the order coming from it I cut the steak and it was grey so it was off I told the waitress and she said it was fresh but it was not so plz don't eat here I will take this further. And also they added a 12% tip to the bill which is out of order. Will not be back again will will let people know it not good.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, we just visited for a birthday dinner. The service was outstanding and the food was exactly what we came for. Not cheap, but the food is better than the likes of smith and western with service a million times better. People that care if you enjoy your meal is always refreshing. This place deserves to be busier.

To begin with the positive, the staff were very kind, helpful, and welcoming. Sadly, beyond this everything else was disastrous. In short: 1) The rooms were: dirty, and the decor in a dreadful state (even the most recent paint decoration has been poorly executed and shows stains, marks, and damp areas) 2) The bedroom was grim, with dirty stained carpets, broken furniture and poor standard facilities. There were cobwebs and dust in most every corner. 3) The small corridor contains wardrobe and drawers were in a very poor condition - a not-so-recent appalling paint job making for difficulty when trying to open doors and drawers (and an internal overpowering smell of damp and mould rendering them unusable). 4) The bathroom was a disaster. Exceptionally poorly equipped with broken shower head holder, broken hand towel holder, damp and mould on the ceiling above the shower head (plaster falling off), a toilet seat that didn’t fit the toilet bowl (3 sizes too small); broken and lifting tiles around the base of the toilet bowl (I cut my foot inadvertently), grout from the floor tiles falling loose across the remaining tiles (highly questionable in terms of cleanliness and safety; poor decoration all round and no hand soap or shampoo (the reception staff allowed us to borrow their personal shampoo on the basis that the hotel β€œmust have run out”!) 5) I was charged for the room on arrival only to check later that I had already paid well in advance when I originally booked. A refund was given without a quibble but I was informed that the hotel is not informed in advance of guests having paid in advance (a strange phenomenon which needs addressing without delay). 6) Food was poor to very average (dinner and breakfast) with evening service for food being highly restrictive in terms of timing and availability. 7) Sadly, the entire hotel is in decline - everything is incredibly β€˜tired’ and β€˜collapsing’ with an urgent need for a total refurbishment (not just a badly applied lock of paint this time around) if future visitors are to be able to write reviews that improve dramatically on this one. The β€˜Buffalo Bill’ theme may sound an interesting one - and there are some quaint elements - but has little relevance or attraction at this site in rural England. The plastic plants, decorations (and their associated cobwebs and grime), are accompanied by worn, uncomfortable furniture and seating.

Went out for a family meal on Sunday, only a few people in the restaurant so we were surprised by the long wait for food after ordering. Meals were average, a couple of the burrito bases were hard and chips slightly undercooked. Extortionate service charge of 12% on top of the bill which was not brought to our attention. Will not be returning.

Wanted to try some British American food. We ordered the ribs appetizer, which was under flavored. And the steak with the Cajun chicken and ribs. The chicken was over cooked but tasted good. Mac and cheese was great.

Driven past many times and decided to stop for dinner and glad I did. It was quite early so not many others were dining, but the staff were excellent and friendly to my daughters and the kids menu superb. The Mexicana Burger was lush too!

Really nice place, and great food. Wife had the burritos, which was nice; I had the Mexicana burger, which was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Nice setting, clean place, friendly staff - it was really quiet when we went, which I'm really surprised about - should be much busier than this!!

Went for dinner on Tuesday with my mum and sister, it was our first time here, we had driven past many times and finally decided to go. The food was really nice, I ordered a combo of steak and ribs with curly fries and corn on the cob. My mum had a pulled pork burrito and my sister a chicken burrito. We all loved the food, and tried each other’s and loved those too! I am always really nervous ordering steak at a restaurant I have never been before but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare! I had no room for pudding (the portions are big) but my sister had a salted caramel sundae which she enjoyed! We will definitely be coming
