The service was great and the environment was nice. We ordered the β cold platter β for two ( Β£52 per person), but the prawn wasnβt very fresh. Overall, still a pleasant experience.

I had the most amazing birthday dinner at Englishβs. Service of 11/10! Everyone were so kind and attentive, food is so delicious here. I absolutely loved their cooked oysters. And will definitely come back for more. I had a medium rare dry aged sirloin and it was so delicious and tender not rubbery at all. And the birthday dessert plates were so cute! The dΓ©cor of the restaurant strikes a perfect balance between elegance and warmth, with cozy tables with crisp white linens, pretty flowers, and a chandelier that makes the whole place glow. It feels classic but super inviting, like the perfect mix of fancy and comfortable.

Came to Brighton for a day trip. Was recommended this restaurant by a family member who had been before. Nice cosy old-school vibes. It was a sunny, warm summers day, so we sat outside. There was a range of dishes, but we went for the Β£27 for 2 course summer set menu, as it seemed a good value for money. I ordered raw rock oysters as starter. Got 3 fresh oysters which were fresh and juicy. Came nice and cold, with the mignonette and ponzu dressing. Delicious! Another person on the table ordered salt and pepper calamari and even though portion was small, with 3 large pieces of calamari, the taste was amazing and it was so fresh. The fish and chips were crispy and fish was flaky. Though again, could do with a few more chips. Tartare sauce was great! The mussels marinieres was exceptional. The sauce was extra creamy and goes well with chips. For the price of the set menu, its great value for money! Would highly recommend! There was bread that came to the table with delicious mackerel pate. But you will need to pay for a cover charge for this. Drinks menu was extensive. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend. Womenβs toilet was up some narrow stairs at the top of the building.

Without a doubt, a very refined restaurant with high degree of attention to details and taste. The lobster and the bass where not only perfectly cooked, but of very high quality as well. The restaurant location cannot be more central, and its decor is firmly placed in the 60s. Price-wise you're dealing with Brighton's high end, no doubt, but it is totally worth it once you have the first mouthful. I cannot reccomend more the Jerusalem Artichoke Tart. Unexpected, complex, zetsy. A delicacy.

Absolutely it was great experience! We searched on google and found this restaurant, so had less expectations. However, staffs were very kind, and foods were amazing. It was the best dish during trip to UK for me and my friend. I would like to recommend to visit this restaurant!

Lovely dinner here. The bill was just under Β£200 with 3 courses, bottle of wine and 2 glasses sparkling wine. The waitress was lovely and attentive. Only let down was the chocolate fondant, it was rock hard and when I asked the waitress if this is what it is supposed to be like, she said no and quickly got me a new one. This makes me wonder if they make their deserts are fresh or if it is frozen and cooked when ordered. The starters and main courses were faultless.

Fantastic oysters, great wine list and a cracking value set menu. First time eating here but definitely won't be my last. Staff and service were great. I wish I'd had more room to finish off the Eton mess, the almond biscuit crumble mixed in was sublime!

Great meal out in early evening. Lovely attentive waiter. Awesome seafood and fish dishes. Great local sparkling wine. All 3 courses were very tasty and I am sure we will go back. We ordered off A La Carte, but there was a really good value set menu.
