The food was great and the service was good as well. However, the prices felt a bit high for what was offered, especially considering the atmosphere, which was quite simple for that price point. Overall, a pleasant experience, but the value for money could be better.

Went for dinner last week with the family, The service was amazing, polite and helpful and friendly staff. The food was outstanding! The most amazing quality and cooked to perfection, everyone (all 9 of us) throughly enjoyed every course, a hidden gem tucked away in the countryside and we canβt wait to go back.

Got a tip off a local foodie page on Facebook and visited with my friend. Wow was well worth the 40 min drive. Very attentive service and the food was amazing. They use local produce so the menu varies day by day . We got there early and it was full by the time we left make sure you book. Will definitely return to sample more.

The family really wanted fish and chips and we stumbled across this fantastic pub. First and foremost, the service was excellent. From the greeting, service to good-bye, everyone we interacted with were lovely. A real credit to the establishment. The kids and wife ordered fish and chips and I ordered the roast chicken. Everyone was very happy with what they got and had clean plates. The chicken was moist and delicious. The fish and chips had a lovely thin batter and the tartare sauce was great. The apricot, banana split and cookie puddings were great and very creative. Overall, a great pub, with quality food and friendly service. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Friendly, reasonably priced gastropub serving locally sourced modern British food on an ever changing menu . Dishes are made from scratch, with great care and attention. Immaculately clean, tasteful decor in this beautiful historic building. I'd recommend booking, the place was full on our Saturday evening visit. Crispy chicken starter was generous, with SE Asian influences of chilli and shaves of cucumber. The game pie was superb, special mention of the buttery and beautifully textured pastry, good chunks of meat and a flavourful gravy. Incredibly filling and tasty. Chocolate mousse was misnamed imo. Huge chunks of thick chocolate covered honeycomb surrounding two scoops of textured malted milk ice cream, sitting on a rich splodge of, more ganache than mousse. It was indulgent and utterly fantastic. Happy to recommend, and worth taking guests to.

First time visit for Sunday lunch today. Lovely charming building. Food was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked. Front of house staff were attentive, always with a smile even in this heat. The beer was good too. Will definitely be visiting again and recommending without a doubt.

We had a delicious meal of home made food, spinach leek and potato soup with home made bread to start. I can honestly say it was the best soup I have had for a very long time followed by beef and ale pie with mashed potatoes and braised red cabbage. My husband is coeliac and was delighted to discover the fish and chips were gluten free along with half of the menu. The portions were generous even the ice cream was homemade. There was a very nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive, would highly recommend.

Was treated to a lovely meal out with the family, cannot praise this place enough! Staff- EXCELLENT Chef- INCREDIBLE Food- SECOND TO NONE! The chef really should apply for masterchef- it was so, so good! Anyone looking for a Sunday dinner, hit them up! Braised red cabbage was phenomenal, even my eleven year old ate it and she hates all things veg!
