A lovely quaint English restaurant offering an exceptional menu. As a vegetarian the options were tasty, beautifully presented and thankfully far more imaginative than the usual risotto or veggie burger offering at many restaurants. My husband had the best steak he has eaten in years in contrast. Considerations were given to intolerances and everything was served beautifully and with care. Nothing is too much trouble. If you are after a quiet dinner, enjoying fantastic food in a quiet and calm setting this could be for you. It’s not a cheap restaurant perhaps but for the quality of food and service I’d say it’s very reasonable and we left feeling we’d had a special evening. Will be going back.

What a wonderful place. As soon as you walk though the door you feel so welcome. Each table feels like it’s just as important as the rest. Such a wonderful calm yet vibrant atmosphere. The decor fits perfectly with the surroundings and village. Then there’s the food… wow! Everything I tasted was full of flavour and beautifully cooked and presented - the portion are generous for this type of fine dinning. I had scallops, rack of lamb and milfoil. My husband had scallops, fillet steak and crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e. All stunning and delicious - even down to the rolls which you get a selection of and each has a different taste. I won’t forget the extensive wine and drinks menu, with a specific champagne cocktail section. Every detail has been thought out and delivered perfectly. Thank you to the whole team for making it such a wonderful experience. We will be back!

I cannot recommend The Sundial enough ... absolutely wonderful place ... the lovely front of house team made us all so welcome from the moment we stepped over the threshold ... I took my lovely Mum and Stepdad for a Mothering Sunday Lunch and we really hit the jackpot! ... the food was exquisite, every course an absolute mouthwatering delight ... normally, I find that one dish stands out far more than the others, but it would be impossible to choose between any of them because each one was equally as good, as were the little 'surprises' that presented themselves whilst we eagerly awaited the arrival of our next course ... although I live a good 2 hours drive away, I will definitely return as soon as I am able ... the restaurant was absolutely packed and now, having experienced The Sundial first hand, I can absolutely understand why! ... thank you for making the occasion so special ... Niki x

What a wonderful experience. My mother's 80th birthday sorry 21st again. A superb restaurant. A big car park plenty of space. A lovely welcome and a bottle of champagne sitting on a sofa opening gifts. Some delicate pastries, sandwiches and olives. My sister forgot to tell them she's gluten free - no problem at all. The chef came out to discuss food options with her and talk about Montpellier where he had lived and she has been living the last 12 years. Such a selection of amazing food - we were overwhelmed. I was glad I had skipped breakfast to allow room for lunch. But the portions were generous without being too much. Les amuse bouches were delightful - a courgette, avocado, garlic mousse (hope I remembered that right) was delicious. Scallop starter for me and mum, foie gras for my brother. They even had a gluten free bread roll with her starter for my sister - she was stunned. That does not happen ever ! Main courses of fish, steak x2 and rack of lamb all delicious with vegetables and superb sauces. Desserts of sorbets were fabulious and the trio of chocolates kept the chocahoclics more than contented and raving. Then coffee and some delicious pastries. We definitely stayed longer than any other restaurant meal ever. But we were still welcome and pampered. Thank you so much. Wonderful service and food. Very very highly recommend. Wonderful on all counts. Will be back soon. Thank you, mum had the best birthday and we all had the best meal/experience possibly ever.

Wonderful food in a traditional, French inspired restaurant. A superb menu of 3 excellent courses for Β£55, with lots of choice including a divine fillet steak! However it is the little treats, all included in the price, that make this restaurant stand out, and make the meal a special experience. Amuse bouche with drinks, and before the meal (a delicious crayfish mousse). Then a calvados granita before the main course and a chocolate coated Berry ice cream lollipop as a predessert. We had a super evening. This restaurant is a lovely place for a special meal, or a business meeting or a gathering of family and friends. We will be back! Thank you.

Just the best. I haven't eaten finer food in the UK. This is the third time I've eaten here in 2 years and it's still marvelous. The service and ambiance is also top notch too. Not a cheap restaurant but great value for this quality of excellence.

This is old fashioned in the best possible way, with superb table service, excellent presentation and delicious and interesting food. From the moment we arrived, when we were shown to a comfortable and relaxing reception area to look at our menus and have pre dinner drinks, we felt special. The standards of service were excellent and considering this restaurant has been in existence for over 20-years, it seems to me, as a first-time visitor that standards have not dropped at all. A Rarity these days. There were so many lovely touches not least the excellent palate cleansers between each course. We had one of the set dinner menus, at Β£42 a head and we actually excellent value for the quality of the food. Unusually for a set menu, the selection of courses was excellent. Add to this, a courteous and efficient staff and I have to say that this is one of the best restaurants we have visited in a long time. Long may it continue.

This is unshamelessly the best restaurant I have dined in near Hastings. It is the epitome of excellence. From getting out of your car to getting back in again is a beautiful journey of decadence. I had the most exquisite lunch on the beautiful patio served by a wonderful young lady. This is truely a family run business with a wonderful passion and commitment to excellence. You will most definitely go away with a smile dining here. Just perfect.

Superb food exquisitely presented, and outstanding service. The king fried scallops were delicious, ditto the lemon sole and venison, and the desserts... wow, works of art on a plate. Plus delicate fragrant palate cleansers after each course. All the stars. Thank you.
