We stayed at the Aviator Hotel as we were attending a wedding reception in the cirrus room in the building across from the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. We had everything in there we could need ie. tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and a tv etc .The room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is decorated and furnished in a 1930s art deco style . We paid for bed and breakfast and the breakfast was a help yourself buffet which was really nice. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Was at the airfield for a Supercar driving experience but booked an early lunch in the Aviator Restaurant for the family before the event. The restaurant is spacious and well appointed. Food was tasty. It’s pub grub quality and not all cooked on site (which was noted when we discussed my son’s nut allergy). Staff were polite and friendly. They removed 4 drinks which had been mistakenly charged to my bill immediately. Would return.

We stayed at the Aviator in August and loved just about everything about it. We received a very nice welcome and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, well appointed and comfortable. It was also quiet. The art deco fittings and decor thought the hotel are beautiful and very well preserved. Food was very good. The wine was very reasonably priced and the two locally brewed beers were dangerously moreish! Set beside a not too busy flying club the grass area outside of the hotel was an ideal spot for a pre dinner drink. This hotel is great value for money and well worth a visit.

The hotel is part of a small Aerodrome and has an air travel and art deco related theme with lots of memorabilia on display. If you are into planes and flying I imagine it is a good place to go. We were just stopping for the one night while we were in the area. The hotel is basic, the rooms are functional, the bed was pretty comfortable, the AC was efficient but didn’t seem to respond to changing the temperature setting. The bar was ok but it was busy with customers and the service was slow due to lack of staff. We only ate breakfast which was below average. It was a self service buffet set out on a large table. The bacon and black pudding were dry, you could only have fried eggs, I asked if I could have scrambled and was told it wasn’t possible. The coffee and hot water were served in flasks and they had those tiny tea cups which hold about two mouthfuls. The tea at breakfast and in the room had a strange taste to it and it was undrinkable, most likely due to the water, and my wife had the same opinion. I wouldn’t stay again if I was in the area.

Hidden Gem. Where else can you sit down for a decent beer, watching a Spitfire, Messerschmidt and Mustang playing outside ? Beautiful Art Deco bar and lounge, covered terrace and plenty of we'll maintained outside space. Excellent restaurant and bar snacks menu.

Stayed here while away on business. The room was basic but served all my needs. The bed was very comfy with crisp bed linen and nice duvet. The shower was powerful and hot. The restaurant on the other side of the car park was welcoming and the food delightful. Breakfast was a buffet style cooked breakfast. One thing I noticed, the staff could have been a little more attentive as when I arrived there were no plates and I had to ask the young ladies who were leaning against the till area chatting about their night out if I could have a plate. The same happened when some guests came to the coffee machine. But over all a really quirky interesting place with great decoration and furniture. I would love to return in the summer so I can sit outside on the terrace which over looks a run way.

Food is lovely but limited menu choices. Restaurant cannot cope when an event on, it was shut to more customers by 8pm on the Saturday night we were there. Rooms looking tired. Only 2 power sockets in the double room. One of those is for the kettle. Very small TV, although not the end of the world. Ran out of soap / shower gel in the bathroom dispensers. Bathroom needs some work to tidy up, everything worked though. Staff all pleasant & helpful if asked.
