   Went for lunch and even though the lunch was busy on a Friday afternoon, just 2 staff members won the game! Food is ok and quantity is generous. Being a Green King pub, limited selection of draught beers on tap as expected but a pint of Carling for a Fosters lover will do the job. I have added a picture of mixed bowl of olives which is costed at £3.75 which looks like a can straight from shelves of Aldi. This of course lacks Garlic clunks. House sodas a best. Ordered Cod Pan Fried with prawns and pan fried chicken breast.

   We came as a group for the festive menu at lunchtime. The food overall was very nice, quickly delivered, and with friendly staff. Food: I had the lentil & vegetable wellington which was very good. I especially enjoyed the roast parsnip and fennel red cabbage that came with it. The smashed potatoes were a little underseasoned and would've benefitted from a little butter and salt. I also had the Christmas pudding - it was delicious and one of the better-flavoured puddings I've had to date, and was served with nice brandy cream. The only thing I couldn't understand was the serving - it was served as a long thin rectangular "strip" rather than as a bowl of pudding or individual mini-pudding. It left presentation to be desired and made you feel like you weren't getting much. Mine was also cut a bit more thinly than one of my fellow diner's. Service: We were seated and served by a friendly lad whose name I can't remember; but I do remember him saying that he and his colleague had the same name. They were both cheery, personable, and always had a smile.

   I popped in after passing by and then turning around to come in. I'm glad I did! Very friendly team, welcoming and polite. I was served promptly and the food also came out within 5 minutes of ordering. I had the salmon fishcake with new potatoes, poached egg and salad. All cooked amazingly and the perfect portion. The menu had a great selection. Atmosphere was chill and relaxed with a tidy, clean environment. I will come back!

   I have taken my time to do this review. Mainly because I am extremely angry. While the nearby road was closed we supported this business by coming out of our way to visit. The majority of the time the food was very good. However this time the service and food were quite frankly shocking. I have ordered the same item a number of times , the Butternut squash grill steak. This arrived with no butternut squash and the veg in the plate had not seen a grill. We complained only to be told it was cut backs , on further complaints to another member of staff , butternut squash was bought out in a bowl (steamed or boiled) the first lady then come out and said she hadn't email cut backs and that was how it was. Despite multiple people having heard her. Rude and obnoxious seemed to be her mantra. Eventually they gave us the meal free, but we will not be back and urge others not to go until this appealing woman is removed from this establishment.

   Really nice visit. Sunday lunch, booked for 2pm. Arrived slightly early and was seated straight away. Drinks order was taken, whilst looking at menu. Unfortunately, the wrong drink arrived at the table but was charged straight away with absolutely no fuss at all. Food arrived swiftly and was delicious, good portion to cost ratio. We were checked on after the first couple of minutes, which was nice. Deserts were equally as nice and accommodated a personal change from ice cream to custard (2 x jugs even!) Forgot to add we had an acute nut allergy, which was noted at arrival, and there was no issue at all. I've been before and I'll go again... should say it all. 10/10 thanks team.

   We came in on Sunday for a roast dinner and it was lovely. Juicy turkey, which is a rarity. We were promptly sat down by the fireplace and didn’t have to wait long for our orders to be taken and delivered. The menu provided had good options for all our tastes, we will definitely be back in the weekday. Thank you to Niamh and the rest of the team for an outstanding service.

   Diverse menu, friendly staff, large portions of very good food (I took a mixed grill). Wine is not their specialty but you'll get some. Nice traditional pub environment.
