I was in a group of ladies for our annual meal. It was lunchtime and we had a large table in the restaurant. Everything was excellent, service, food and attention to detail. Staff all friendly and helpful. Also, very good value for money. An enjoyable pre-Christmas celebration.

Very good location with plenty of parking, and some of the tables have a lovely view over the canal. We popped in for breakfast and most of it was great. The only thing that wasn’t quite for me were the veggie sausages — not bad quality at all, just a different style to what I’m used to (more like mixed veg shaped into a sausage). Also, I wish they would allow substitutes. My partner's non veggie sausages were tiny, but tasty. I do think breakfast was on the small side portion wise. Food came out really fast, which was a nice surprise, and the prices are fairly affordable. I do wish the lady behind the bar had been a bit more friendly, but overall it’s a cool place and we’ll definitely be back to try the Sunday roast next time!

I really enjoyed my time here. Went for a family meal, and there was a wide choice of food for everyone. Quality of the food was great, and nobody had any issues. The venue was clean and welcoming, but maybe a little on the cold side with the change in temperature that day - but cant really blame them for that. Staff were all really nice and gave a great quality of service. The venue was great for us as a family to come, but it would equally be fine for just a couple to go to. My only point for improvement would be the beer selection wasnt exactly to my taste, but it might be to yours. Will definitely be making a trip there again, and hopefully when the canal museum is open too.

A fantastic venue to enjoy a Bistro break! The service was excellent as was the food. Met and exceeded our expectations and the portions were very generous. The atmosphere and history of this charming place lull you into a fog of relaxation, to the extent that you don’t want to leave. Take the time to while away your day here relaxing and enjoying the food, beverages and ambiance!

A lovely pub with beautiful views of the canal. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Food was good and had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options which is great to see! There’s games to play and pictures of canal and pub history. The chef sells homemade cake to take away and it is amazing, the chocolate or the coffee and walnut are both my favourite!

The full English Breakfast was gorgeous. Hugh amount on the plate, but really good quality ingredients and a very good price. The staff were very efficient and friendly. I highly recommend the breakfast followed by a lovely walk along the canal.

Lovely pub right beside the Canal at a quaint lock, opposite the canal museum. Fantastic thick cut chips and a pint, with very friendly staff.

Group of 8 of us (two families with small children) turned up without a reservation for an early lunch on a rainy Friday. They were able to accommodate us, and despite what I thought was an initially frosty reception (probably because we were 8, with kids and no reservation!!), service was friendly and quick. The lady at the bar was really lovely with our kids. The food we all had was tasty, the kids loved their dessert, and it offered good value for money. I'd certainly go back if we were in the area again. Recommended!

Went for the first time to try out this place due to a recommendation and was not disappointed. The food was lovely and the staff were helpful and friendly. Please note it gets very busy on a Sunday so a good idea to book
