Stopped by on a Saturday lunchtime. My husband had the steak (often a risky choice) but he was very happy with it, I had the lasagna, it was delicious, nice and cheesy. My son had the Gammon it disappeared pretty quickly so it must have been ok. Lovely pub in a lovely location. Would definitely go back.

#Buddyfriendlypubs #Roobysvillagetour Ok so. As much as I dislike to give a bad review, as the staff were really friendly and welcoming on arrival. Inside the pub was nice, very “pubby” lol this place is dog friendly, everywhere except for where there is carpet(the restaurant) The outside seating is very good. And it’s a great place to sit beside the canal in the summer. We ordered the Caesar salad and from the chalkboard cheese and ham, Panini. After a while we got told that there wasn’t any ham. So they subbed it for chicken for me. When it arrived, it didn’t look like a Panini it look like a toasted ciabatta… The Caesar salad was pretty disappointing, alone it was £9.99 and to add chicken was an extra £3.99 which seemed really expensive if you just had to pay £9.99 for some salad and some cheese and some dressing? Unfortunately the salad leaves that were served where ready for the bin . When a staff member asked how is your food? We did complain about the quality of the lettuce leaves. She said sorry, when I went up to order two more drinks the staff member took a couple of pound off as compensation - which was better than nothing, but I did expect a little bit more compo…I can see why the place was really quiet which is such a shame. Definitely not a rovers return.

Had bucket of chips. Chips hot, dish roasting but gravy stone cold which made chips underneath stone cold. Returned and got nuclear bowl of food. Left 90% of it. Nice and friendly service. Area clean, not too busy. Plenty of parking outside. Lovely sitting outside next to canal

We were sent here by Richard, the director of a local company where we had gone for a meeting. Probably the cleanest pub toilets I have ever seen. The lovely waitress served us efficiently and it wasn’t long before another friendly lady brought out our food. We have never previously experienced cheesy chips with gravy, but it was a good experience. 3 plates, 4 drinks, all for £22. Definitely better than London prices.

A pleasant pub in an off the main roads location. It is situated next to the canal and seemed very popular with locals and canal boaters alike. We arrived 10 minutes before they were closing the kitchen as they had organised a bbq and entertainment, but were welcomed in by the staff. We had a lovely meal in a great environment. The staff were attentive and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. If your passing I would recommend popping in for a drink or bite to eat.
