This is a little gem of a restaurant, with an Indian and a English food menu, which bizarrely you can mix and match. We indulged as a family of four, and it did not disappoint at all, save for a cocktail, which was never really going to be great. Overall the standard of the Indian dishes were very good indeed and it we will undoubtedly return.

Overpriced, over salted and over charged. The starters were nice, expensive and on the small side, but tasty. My main meal (Methi Lamb) was so over salted it was inedible. I fed back to the waitress when she came over to collect the plates (didn't see any serving staff until then). Was offered something else but at that point everyone else had already finished eating. Was charged full price (just under £18) for that dish on the bill along with a few items we didn't order or have, so had to get them to correct before paying, although the waitress had obviously not fed back that I couldn't eat my meal as the man who brought us the bill went to check with someone out the back (presumably that I was telling the truth) before correcting the bill. Positives... .good parking available, they were able to seat us early, my young niece enjoyed the kids menu meal (cheese burger, chips and beans) and my Dad enjoyed the dessert menu. But overall, for the price and expectations based on some of the reviews on here, tonight's first time visit was extremely disappointing, and I would not go back.

First time here. Went on the off chance, sister visiting from USA. Very nice place! Lamb shish kebab was brilliant starter! Wish I had 2. Jalfrezi for main, again great. Made to feel very welcome, no hassle to buy more drinks. There is also an English fayre menu Attentive staff but not encroaching. Nice bar area with very comfy seating and open to nonresidents. Considering bringing parents to cream tea in the bar. Accessible to wheel chairs. All round brilliant!

Slightly bemused by some of the amazing reviews here. We visited for date night. The restaurant itself is a typical hotel restaurant, ie no atmosphere whatsoever. Tables were crammed in next to the entrance door when there was space elsewhere in the restaurant not being used, or filled with tables containing service items. Service was just ok. We were served promptly, but we asked for a jug of water with our wine, which was forgotten. We also paid extra for pickles with our poppadoms and this was also forgotten. When we got the pickles, they were disappointing. One piece of onion and something large that had something very woody in the middle of it. Uneatable between 2 people, so we left them. The food itself was ok. Just ok, but nothing special. Definitely not "best ever" or "amazing". We started off with onion bhajis and samosas, followed by chicken tikka, and paneer tikka. We found the food lacking in flavour and depth (and we aren't lovers of food that's so spicy that it leaves your lips on fire). We have had far better Indian food elsewhere. The garlic naan didn't taste of garlic at all. Also, as this is essentially a hotel restaurant, the wine prices are very expensive. The cheapest wine on the menu was £21. So overall, just an average experience and one we wouldn't repeat. Certainly not best ever.

We had such a fabulous traditional Indian meal while staying at stone house. The husband wife team was amazing and everything we ate was out of this world. I wish they were had a restaurant in the USA. We will be back for sure. Thank you for your hospitality to us.

Delicious authentic food, best in the area! The portion size is great and food is not greasy like other places. We have been a few times and staff are always very helpful and professional, so we love to dine in.
