This was our second work Christmas party at The Althorp Coaching Inn, and once again it was a fantastic experience. Our group of 13 was seated in the spacious lounge next to the open fire, which created a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. The room was beautifully decorated for Christmas and felt very festive. We had pre-ordered from the set Christmas menu, and everyone was delighted with their choices. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding—nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We’re certain we’ll be returning to celebrate another occasion in the not-too-distant future. Thank you to everyone at The Althorp Coaching Inn for making our evening so special!

A lovely pub in a picturesque village. We sat in the restaurant and I was driving so can't comment on the beers choices or bar area The food was very good (main course and desert) and excellent value for money. The staff and service were great and he atmosphere was relaxing, a perfect place for a good quality Sunday lunchtime meal.

I had never been to Althorp Coaching Inn until I was recommended their brilliant open mic event, that happens once a month in the barn. George is a brilliant and welcoming host who delivers excellent sound quality, making performing an absolute joy. It is the best of any I have been too. The staff at the bar are brilliant and the decor and atmosphere is superb. Thanks to visiting the open mic last Tuesday, I became aware of Liane Carroll performing on the Thursday and bought a ticket. I was delighted to see more events planned. I wold not have found this delightful venue were it not for the highly recommended open mic. I am looking forward to eating there next time.

Food was lovely but sadly too many wasps. The menu is very unique and they had great selection of dessert wines, it's a shame not all they sell as a glass. It's a quintessential place with an interesting (in a good way) menu. *highly recommend*

We visited the Althorp Coaching Inn for a family lunch following a wedding celebration, and it turned out to be a truly outstanding experience. Food & Drink From start to finish, the food was exceptional. I started with the onion bhajis — perfectly crisp, full of flavour, and not at all greasy. For the main course, I had the halibut, which was cooked beautifully — tender, fresh, and delicately seasoned. Both dishes far exceeded expectations and I’d absolutely order them again without hesitation. We also enjoyed dessert, and for two people having a full three-course meal, the bill came to approximately £85, which felt like great value for the quality provided. Service There were plenty of staff on hand, all of whom were friendly, attentive, and efficient. Service was smooth and never felt rushed, making for a relaxed and enjoyable lunch. Atmosphere & Setting The interior is beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated in a period-appropriate style — everything you’d want and expect from a classic British pub. The venue has character in spades, from the inviting bar area to a charming barn out back featuring a dart board and communal seating. A projector in the barn was even showing the F1, which added a fun and relaxed touch. Overall The Althorp Coaching Inn nails that rare balance between authentic charm, top-quality food, and warm hospitality. Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a celebratory gathering, it ticks all the right boxes. Highly recommended — we’ll certainly be back.

Booked a meal for Valentines for my Wife and 2 daughters. Recommended by a work colleague. Excellent meal, warm inviting restaurant, sat by the log burner which was lovely. Staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

I visited tonight for dinner with my parents. I'm not usually one to leave reviews but we had such a nice time I just had to. The food was lovely, the staff were so welcoming, and the pub itself is so cosy and inviting. Thankyou for a great evening. We'll definitely be back again, with the dog next time!

Lovely pub with great staff , unfortunately for us ( three people) disappointed at the amount of dogs allowed. Disgusting smell actually, not sure how you can allow so many animals when you are serving food . Although today no food was being served. Hope to come back soon but without the dog smell?

Visited on reopening and again recently. The more mature lady in the restaurant was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about both menu and drinks. However bar staff were lounging on the bar talking to each other and seemed uninterested unless you are a regular. Bar tables not clean. We were served a bottle of Barolo at £45.00, dusty straight from the cellar cold with no apology. Disappointed to say the least won't be recommending. Management need to look into staffing issues

Food was delicious, fresh, nobody leaves hungry. Really nicely refurbished, it still feels like an cosy old fashioned pub. We will definitely be back.
