A lovely looking country pub but a bit difficult to park on the busy days as the car park is relatively small but you can park on the road. Service was friendly, not the fastest with drinks orders but generally they were good otherwise with food serving and collecting plates. The Sunday lunch was £19 or two courses for £24 which is fair in the current environment. The Sunday roast was average to good. The plates are huge but the food on it is minimal so it looks a little small. You got two slices of beef and then a spoon of cabbage, mash, green beans, and about four small roast potatoes. The roasts with the disappointment of the meal, chewy and dry, like they've been under the hot lamp all afternoon. The beef was well done, it was tasty but didn't look overly appealing visually. The cauliflower cheese was quite watery tasting. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with the food, it just didn't stand out from some other country pubs, but everyone has different opinions on how roasts are cooked. I'd be interested to try the normal pub menu to compare. The restaurant itself can feel a bit cramped with it being so busy and it does get loud being one room so bear that in mind. There is a separate bar area. The beer lineup is the standard Molson Coors lines but they do have Hawkstone Lager at least and a few cask beers (Doom bar being two of them). We won't rush back but it was good for an occasion.

Very nice surroundings. Staff very pleasant on arrival. My wife had fish ,which was nice and I had the the highly recommended Steak and ale pie .though looking very wholesome I found my pie burnt on the bottom leaving a very acrid taste. Unfortunate really as we had a good experience upunil this point.i informed the waitress who said she would mention it to the chef. No further feedback so we paid up and left

Best meal I had in a pub for ages, a great find. Went as a group of 6, the mixed grills were outstanding, as we're the curry's, the puddings ect were all to a high standard, as were the serving staff. Good wholesome food, cooked well, in a great environment, going back this week, if you want a great meal, put this place on your list, good food at good prices, recommended.

Loved this place. The portions are really generous but really good quality at the same time. The atmosphere was warm and homely and the service was absolutely spot on. Honestly no faults at all which is unusual for us! 10/10 would go again

This was a great little find. We have driven past here for years and never been in!! The place is lovely inside and the staff were great so friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous and there was so much of it we were stuffed. Will bring the kids next time as the menu was great and loads to choose from.
