“Great cinema, very helpful and friendly staff. Nice and clean. Very comfy reclining seats. Highly recommend”
“Not been here in years & went for an anniversary meal after a disappointing holiday away. Main menu a little expensive but 2 for £20 offer makes it affordable. Food was outstanding. Hot, fresh & plenty of it - they do not cut portion size for offers like some other places! Service excellent, attentive but not overbearing & no pressure to leave once meal complete. Would highly recommend & my only complaint is about the booking system, which requires card details to book-no problem with this alone but details are held by third party for 24 months which is totally unnecessary & puts our data at risk so would not book in advance & would need to take our chances on the day, as we did today. Will definitely return though, the food is fantastic.”
“Love coming here when I visit my fam in Stafford. Atmosphere is always vibing and they do a cracking breakfast....plus the best pork pie I've ever tasted!”
“Lovely family friendly place. Had a fab time with my friend. x”
“Great food compliments to the chefs. Sam was very attentive and fulfilled every request we gave her. Keep up the good work”
“We had an afternoon tea here with the kids. All in all it was fantastic- I can’t remember the person who served us, blonde man with glasses as I recall, but he was ace. Nothing was too much trouble and he dealt with any issues or questions we had. Would definitely go again!”
“Lovely friendly place to visit in Stafford, the new bar man with dark hair was excellent helping me choose a drink couldn’t have been more polite credit to the new landlords. Fast efficient and helpful”
“Perfect little pub. Served by Donna and Lucy, excellent service. Food was on point, atmosphere was quiet but for a Monday night was expected.”
“Great Experience - Great Staff - Great Facilities We celebrated our Staff Christmas Party and all 25 of us had a fantastic time. Bowling, drinks, arcades and Pizza - all enjoyable. The staff were brilliant - Thank you.”
“I stayed in the Eagle's Nest apartment while workng for a week in Stafford, only 15-20 minutes away. Helen and Andy have curated a wonderful old building into a delightful combination of B&B plus the flat. I had a warm welcome (the B&B bit - so much better than a code and a lockbox) with the offer of a complementary home made flapjack on my arrival. I was shown up to the flat and around it, so that all thereafter was simple. Helen is enthusiastic about the house and its history and was a great host - the welcoming bowl of fruit and biscuits is always a nice touch. Plenty to do in and around Eccleshall and Helen showed me to a 5K into the countryside from the house that I did a couple of times. Pubs and food in Eccleshall. Give it a go.”
“Lovely little boozer. Absolutely what a pub should be. Decent price for a pint and busy due to that.”
“Such a beautiful village pub! Our first visit and we went for Sunday dinner, the food was hot, tasted great and looked amazing. The staff were all very friendly and service was great wasn't left waiting to be served. We will definitely be returning.”
“Hands down the best place we’ve ever been too ! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was amazing and the staff made us feel so welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. The drinks were amazing, never seen nothing like it we had such a good time ( who ever comes up with these ideas is amazing) The atmosphere was unreal, such a fun and lively place with great music(including Xmas music) You could really tell they care about giving people a great experience, when wr came for our booking it was really busy but the staff handled it perfectly. Honestly, this is the best place we’ve been for a while in stone, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We’re already planning our next visit couldn’t recommend it enough! Next time I think we’re going to book for bottomless brunch! Thanks guys, merry Christmas”
“Quaint little pub on the top of a hill, only a little hill but still a hill. Had a cosy log fire, the beer was great and the dog seemed to approve so all good from us”
“Had the pleasure of going today after a shoot, amazing service, the staff made me feel right at home, and the home cooked food was perfect, I’d highly recommend going here anytime. I can’t wait for the next time, thank you”
“The outside area is a good place on a sunny day.”
“Love this place for a lunchtime sandwich and drink treat, when I need a break from work. Family run business, with home from home atmosphere and cooking.”
“We had a lovely evening celebrating an anniversary. We were served by T who was engaging and attentive! Couldn’t have asked for a better meal out for a special occasion! Food was brilliant, drinks lovely and the extra touches don’t go unnoticed!”
“We arrived quite late. The food and drinks were good. We were able to order dinner last minute before the kitchen closed, which was lovely.”
“My wife and I are locals and regular visitors to The Swan at Whiston, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent — proper home-cooked dishes, generous portions, crisp chips, and plenty of fresh vegetables. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. It’s great value for money, and they’re always happy to accommodate. Always busy, always enjoyable — what more could you ask for?”
“Great food and lovely country pub, had a delicious steak and ale pie followed by a brilliant apple and raspberry crumble with custard ! Very tasty food and good value portions.”
“We came for the Sunday lunch carvery, generous portions, home cooked and really good. The pub is a ‘proper’ pub , cosy and welcoming will come again .”
“A archetypal country pub in a beautiful rural area. It’s a little tucked away so you’ll need your nav to find it. Once there you’ll not be disappointed. The staff are welcoming and the food is wholesome pub favourites. They also do a fabulous Sunday lunch menu, you’ll have to book to ensure a table. On a Tuesday it’s a Mecca for bikers. They provide brilliant fast food, usually curry’s, burgers, and loads of chips. Its usually packed buts there’s plentiful outdoor seating. I’ve been to the bike meets, and for Sunday lunch. It’s one our favourite country pubs, give a try. Highly recommended.”
“All perfect from beginning to end, shown to our room which was clean and smart. Good selection of beers in the bar itself. And the breakfast was simple but more than adequate for the onward journey. Top marks all round.”
“We have eaten lunch on the Friday & Saturday. Atmosphere was lovely. We didn't feel rushed. Staff went above and beyond perfect food”
“We had an excellent meal in their restaurant. Attentive staff, great flavoured food and very well kept beer.”
“Lovely Sunday lunch. Great service from the minute we arrived. Friendly and efficient. Well presented tasty food - really enjoyed it.”
“My favourite local pub, always a great atmosphere that you just can’t beat. Staff are lovely and go above and beyond for you on every visit. The food is much better than stereotypical ‘pub’ food, we often come for celebrations and birthday meals! Great job guys well done :)”
