Do not go !!! What utterly dreadful customer service ! A meal that was not right inedible turkey in the pie and we were told , “ we can change it but no one else has complained so you will have to pay for 2 meals !!!!!! Do not deserve our business and shame on you !!! Last week when we visited and spent £300 we thought that we had found another good place to eat - how wrong ! I have eaten in many restaurants and never ever have received such ignorance and poor attitude .

We had a delicious meal here last night with a few drinks. Duck, lamb and vegetable and pumpkin pie were well cooked with tasty sides and rich dauphinois potatoes. Portion size just right. Service was excellent, not rushed, attentive and friendly. Lovely atmosphere in comfortable dining room.

A little gem in the heart of Eccleshall, as you go through the front door you step into an immaculate reception area. The staff are smart, helpful and well trained. Very pleasant well furnished dining room, very clean , well laid out, with a very homely feeling. We had the lunch menu, plenty of choice, and must be the best food I've had in a restaurant for ages, compliments to the chefs, my wife had a roast chicken dinner, and cleared her plate, I had the beef stroganoff, delicious, and when we had our puddings, the staff put a wee candle on her Bakewell tart, as it was her birthday. Definitely recommend this place, we had a chatter with one of the owners, lovely lady, very nice experience.

Fell across this little gem by chance! Only stopped for a toilet break while returning home & decided to eat as it looked so lovely.. Food was amazing, we had starters/mains & it was truly delicious.. I will definitely return even though it's outside of our normal area.. Staff were friendly & helpful 10/10 17:3:23

My partner, parents and I went for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed! The pub itself was very warm and cosy, although quite modern inside which surprised me as it’s history is the old smithy. Service and staff were excellent! We sat in the bar (booth) as we had our dog. They were so attentive and even made sure the dog bowl had water and even gave him some doggy treats! The food was excellent! I had the Sunday roast (beef) which was cooked to perfection. My mum had the lamb which was also superb. Dad had the homemade pie…I will be having that next time as it was a proper traditional homemade pie (I think a proper hot water crust pastry) and dad said the best he had for a very long time. My partner had the chicken roast which was also brilliant. Oh, and the garlic mushroom starter was delicious! I could have eaten that for a main course! Highly recommend and will be going back very soon!

Amazing service, amazing food, and such a lovely atmosphere. Our 8 month old absolutely smashed the burger from Perry’s a stones throw away. He’s a all over the place eater so it was great that he was keen to eat especially when in a different style of high chair. Lovely decor inside and out. The only thing that let it down was the car park not being able to accommodate us but it was a short enough walk from the front of co-op so we can’t complain, thank you, we’ll definitely be back

Extremely friendly owners work really hard to provide a fantastic experience. The couple work as a team in the kitchen and running front of house and so their communication is spot on, providing tweeks to the menu that give customers with dietary requirements a great meal, very well done and thanks, Tom and Rie
