Stopped in here for a family lunch on our way home from Southport to Reading. Lovely food, we all had the Sunday roast and a vegetarian meal and puddings. All delicious. They also allow dogs which was a bonus for us. Would definitely recommend this pub.

We were staying down the road and went in for an early dinner with 6 of us (four adults, a child and a baby) on a Thursday evening. The service was really friendly and quick too. The food was all absolutely delicious - massive portions, freshly cooked and really tasty. We had the chicken burgers and the homemade kebabs from the grill menu, as well as the fish and chips and a pizza, chips and peas for the kids. Would recommend them all! The owner told us they had only been running the place for nine weeks. They're doing a fantastic job. We're just sad we weren't there for a Sunday roast...

Food was excellent, good quality, perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. Chunky chips were fantastic. Thickest gammon I've ever seen. Good size rump steak cooked perfectly. The owner gave us a very warm, friendly welcome and the service was excellent. We'll definitely be returning and can highly recommend.

As we alighted the car, on the car park, our nasal senses were heightened to the wonderful smells, emanating from the kitchen area. We entered the friendly bar, and were greeted by a wide range of ales, lagers and cider. I plumped for the Taylors Landlord, and a superbly kept pint it was. As it was a Sunday, we selected the roasts from the menu, my wife had the turkey, and I, the brisket, which I was informed had been cooked by wood firing, for 14 hours. And you could tell, it melted in the mouth, exuding a luscious flavour. And the portion was very generous. The wife's turkey, too, very succulent. We managed to squeeze in two puddings, apple pie, and sticky toffee, which again were amazing. The staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly, especially Teresa behind the bar. Well worth a visit, and we will go again.

Had a lovely meal here, was welcomed with our dogs. Was allowed to sit any where we wanted. Found a lovely spot next to the window. Very friendly owner and bar staff. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal of scampi and gammon and chips. Will be returning when we're next in the area. Stayed on a lovely caravan site up the road. Highly recommend and thank you for a lovely warm welcome and enjoyable meal.
