I joined my sister here for dinner. The staff were very helpful and accommodating when it came to choosing a drink. I donβt drink often and what he made me fitted perfectly. It was delicious. I asked for advice regarding mains and had the slow cooked shin. Oh my goodness absolute perfection!

We had Sunday lunch today for 7 people. Everyone had a different Sunday Roast that was on offer. All were very nicely presented on hot plates. I had the pork belly that was very tender & tasty. Some of us had turkey that was very moist & plentiful. The beef was very nice & was cooked to your liking, the lamb was tender. The selection of vegetables hot & nicely cooked We also had some extras, pigs in blankets, red cabbage & cauliflower cheese all really nice. The service was very good, friendly & helpful. Was a very relaxing afternoon with friend's. Would highly recommend the Peacock for a lovely meal in nice relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. Thank you for your service & a lovely time.

Visited mid week for a meal. Nice environment and atmosphere and welcoming. Food and service was good and Emma was very enthusiastic and attentive and delivered great hospitality not just transactional service. Will be back very soon.

Jo, John and I walked into a barβ¦ and it was actually also a good lookinβ restaurant so we stayed abd had a an unforgettable evening at the Peacock. Good food, great service. Steph Moores took care of us well and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Even the German guys with me on the table enjoyed themselves.

Had an absolutely brilliant visit here this evening for my mums 60th Birthday meal. Couldn't have asked for a much more accommodating team of staff, with special thanks to our waitress Steph (as well as Sam and Keo)! Super friendly, great atmosphere (especially with the newly introduced live band for the Jazz Festival) and amazing food - Couldn't have asked for better!! Thank you very much!

We put off coming for a while, having tried to visit for food a few times last year (their kitchen had closed unexpectedly on at least 3 occasions we visited). We tried again yesterday, while they were serving food, it was a much reduced menu, with 10 things being unavailable. The food we had was good, and the service was too, but the management really need to sort whatever issues they've been having over the past 6 months, I doubt we'll visit again as a result

Quiet location, friendly staff. Food was of a good standard, not that much of a variety as it was a Sunday we visited and roasts were the chosen meals! Great for a family get-together and there's a hotel to stay in should a beverage or three be needed!

Party of 26 for Christmas lunch menu today. 12.30 for 1.00pm.Starter of soup. Soup was warm but not piping hot. Steak was good done to my liking. However I asked for it with a salad and not chips etc as per menu. There was only a salad garnish amount of leaves etc.Would have expected a full salad. Christmas pudding dessert ------ good portion size and nice pud. However not enough sauce to do it justice. We had to wait a long time between courses and main meals didn't arrive until about 2.15. My opinion is that the meal is overpriced. One member of the group had to leave at 2.45 as he had an appointment at 3pm so had to take his dessert home . The service wasn't good. Apparently they only had one chef and there were only 2 ladies serving. Surely more staff should have been brought in when they knew there were 26 due in!! We eventually left the Peacock at 3.45 ish. Not good when the meal was booked for 1pm. I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone.
