   Best Indian in Macclesfield!! First time visiting the New Shalimar and it was fantastic! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very friendly and welcoming. The portions of the food are generous and tasted amazing with so much flavour. I would highly recommend the fiery Marrakesh dish, it’s an award winning dish for a reason!! The staff are friendly and very professional, helped me out choosing a dish from the menu as there is so much variety! Cannot wait to visit again : )

   Went yesterday with a few friends just to have tea. As soon as we entered, we asked the man taking orders (looked to be in his 50s, possibly the manager) if they served tea. We clearly said we were here only for tea. He said it was fine, so we sat down and ordered tea. While we were having it, a waiter came over asking for our food order. We politely told him we were just here for tea. A few minutes later, the same manager came and started insisting that we order food, saying we were “costing him money” and even started showing us some supposed “terms and conditions.” Their waiters also started being rude. Honestly, if the restaurant doesn’t allow customers to just have tea, they should say that right at the entrance when somebody clearly tells "Excuse me, do you have south Asian tea, we are here just for tea" and if you don't understand the question, ask it again instead of agreeing first and then trying to force people to order food. Extremely unprofessional and unpleasant experience, ruined what was meant to be a simple tea outing with friends.

   Food was delicious. We ordered the meat samosa, onion bhajis, pickle tray, chicken tikka masala, rice, naans and sag aloo. It was all really good and came out very quickly.The staff were very friendly and helpful (gave us good recommendations) and the service was really quick. We didn’t order dessert but the menu looked lovely. Would definitely revisit and recommend. Would give a higher rating if we could.

   I ordered a takeaway tonight, Shahi platter & stuffed meat pepper. Absolutely amazing a absolute gem of a place. If you haven't tried it yet, believe me you will not be disappointed!! I will definitely be ordering again. Thank you for the amazing food, it most definatley satisfied my appetite.

   Ordered takeaway. Biriyani was greasy and tasteless. Tikka masala was watery. Jalapeno bites were meagre (4 very small) and stone cold. Naan was the size of my hand. Popadoms were missing. Really disappointing as we've been in the restaurant and it was great.

   We mostly have a take away , lovely friendly man who delivered our food ,the food is 10/10 but 6 months ago I always had onion bhajis but they really went downhill I had them three times and couldn't eat them, but tonight I ordered by chance o /bhajis and they was 10/10 .well done at last .

   One of the best restaurants in Macclesfield! Highly attentive and friendly staff. Tasty and fresh food. Incredible selection of items (all can be adapted to become vegan!) So it has a truly a superior VEGAN MENU!
