My son bought me a pair of trainers mainly for walking the dog as I like to walk long distance he paid £179 odd he bought them January 22 for my birthday, the sole is leaving the uppers, I haven't worn them this winter at all, and yet I have a pair of cheaper trainers that are 3 years old and still going strong. You should be ashamed

Just had an extremely painful callus removed. I was delighted with the treatment and the pleasant professional staff. Highly recommended.

Store is a lovely hidden gem, well priced shoes and lovely staff, particularly Katie and I believe her name is Fleur?

Service poor. No help at all. I paid and looked at my receipt and the price was more than on the ticket. They just said sorry. Thats not good enough, if the price was more they should have told me or refunded me. I shan't bother next time.

I bought some really lovely boots from here in the winter and just started wearing them again recently since the weather changed. The tread pattern on the sole split (faulty/bad quality shoe I was told by Timpsons) and my foot got entirely wet from the rain. As you can see from the photos the hole clearly follows the same line as the tread - visible on the opposite shoe. When I asked the woman in the shop if there was anything they could do she told me their returns policy for faulty items was 6 months. I started to say "so there's nothing I can d-" and she interrupted me to suggest I go to Timpsons to fix them, where I'd already been to get advice. She was so patronising in her tone it actually really upset me. I'm thirty! I'm now paying to have the shoes resoled elsewhere because it seems such a waste of a beautiful shoe that has had hardly any wear! This was the Brixton boot, they were incredibly comfortable but I wouldn't recommend buying them.

Walked in with no idea what I needed but pain in my legs and feet. I didn't catch her name but the woman that I spoke to was extremely helpful and set about using the machine to measure how I stand and walk and talking about my history and where the pain was. 20 mins later I walked out with a pair of very reasonably priced custom moulded orthotics which have literally been the best purchase I've made this year, the effects are fantastic. My legs and feet feel better already and my back is also improving - something I didn't even attribute to my footwear. Thanks for helping me out! One thing I would say is that the men's shoes range is very limited and not what I'd describe as fashionable (for under 60s anyway).

Specialist shoe shop, which has a range of orthotic inserts for shoes. They also have machines capable of analysing your stance and suggesting relevant inserts to correct problems. Their range of shoes doesn't seem as extensive as those from Hotter. Also the staff seemed a bit preoccupied, dusting displays, dealing with deliveries rather than assisting people in the shop. Not sure if this is the norm here or just unlucky. Certainly our experiences at our local Hotter shop have been a lot better and we'll continue to go there.
