I went to pick up christmas presents and was refused because I didn’t have my argos card. I had the receipt and the app. I explained I had picked up before from this store without the card and it was fine. Refused again and acted like I was asking something insane. Explained as I am disabled it is hard for me to get to town so I may not be able to come again before Christmas (I have to get a taxi as I don’t drive - my dad had given me a lift). She told I needed my card “incase someone had stolen it” to prove the order was mine. I questioned that if I was using a stolen card I wouldn’t have the receipt or app. It also was a very small order (presents from my daughter to her grandparents). I asked if there was anything I could do. Still refused and she made out it was policy she absolutely could not break. She extended pick up till after Christmas, which is useless for Christmas presents. I called argos today and they said it’s not policy, it’s at the staff’s digression. They also said I could have shown ID or the store could have called them to go through security to verify. She did not give me these options. The shop was also empty, so it’s not even like it was busy? So weird/ unnecessary. I have now spent all morning calling argos to try and figure this out. I can’t even cancel and reorder a new card because it would take 2 weeks and my options are pay a tenner to get a taxi there and potentially be refused again or have my daughter go to her grandparents with two missing gifts. There were so many potential solutions, I just don’t understand. UPDATE: next member of staff had zero issues and was lovely and friendly and understanding and was wearing a great christmas jumper ♥️

Thank you so much to the lovely staff who helped me with my Joie stroller today! I had my baby in my arms, and they were so kind and supportive — even helped set it up. Brilliant service, really appreciated! Here’s a photo of my happy little one in the new pushchair

The store provides a wide range of products, from electronics to household items, catering to various needs. The Click & Collect service is convenient, allowing for online purchases to be picked up in-store. Staff members are generally helpful, assisting with queries and facilitating smooth transactions. The store's location on Cliffe High Street makes it easily accessible for local shoppers

Rather rude, told my partner the FT codes from the text were old but when shown the email they magically worked..? Even the 4 digit code wouldn’t work for the whole order which makes 0 sense since they were ordered at the same time. Told him to move out the way so another customer could be served even though he was being served himself. Very rude and stuck up manager, wont be getting anything sent there again!

Exceptional customer service from Xanthe. James has excellent product knowledge. Good team work from both of them. Never had a problem with exchanges. A pleasureable shopping experience and service that has made us regular customers to this store.

Always helpful, always fast. A little parking is available at the rear for customers only; otherwise, the large car-park at the back of the nearby Premier Inn is suitable. And, if your order is taking a particularly long time, you can have a pint in the John Harvey Tavern opposite.

I was delighted that I could have same day delivery and even choose a 3 hour delivery slot. however it was since accepting delivery that my experience has worsened. upon very carefully opening the parcel containing a full length mirror i saw it was quite badly cracked. this was at approx 19.10. I immediately obtained the Lewes store number and began calling at 19.14. I was in a queue for 28 mins. I decided to try a little later as advised only to be told that you were closed. this was at 20.10. I am very disappointed not to be able to talk to someone about replacing the broken mirror.Nicola Russell
