We wanted to love it as we had been past before and read all the great reviews but we waited 90 mins for our mains, of which two were average, one was nice, and one was actively horrible which was the truffle pasta. It had no taste of truffle, it was served in a sauce that smelled and tasted a bit like the water from a pot noodle and the pasta was barely filled and rock hard. They did offer to make something else but after having already waited 90 mins (whilst entertaining young children) I declined. The foccacia and Chianti were both great. Service was hit and miss. At one point my child dropped their colouring sheet on the floor and a member of staff took it and binned it instead of handing it back which I thought was a bit harsh. Overall a strange, disappointing, and reasonably expensive, experience I'm afraid. The location is so pretty though and there's no doubt it's popular so we may have just got unlucky this time.

The wife and me went for dinner yesterday. Really lovely place. Cosy, charming, unpretentious. A good age range of people from 20's upwards. The staff were all really nice and helpful. Service was attentive without rushing you. Food was thoughtfully prepared and fresh. Servings were a decent size for a chubby lad like myself. With a fair few cocktails, glasses of wine, 2 starters, mains and puds, bill was a smidge over a hundred quid including service which felt like money well spent. There's a nice little bar next door and the staff buzz back and forth carrying fun little negronis for a fiver. They're small but potent I realised as I tripped over the door on the way out. There's a fun little courtyard too. Everyone seemed happy and we'll definitely be back, so a big thanks to the cooks and staff!

We went to squisito on a scorching summer evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant was electric but not overwhelming, as the charming restaurant manager swiftly took our order for drinks and talked us through the menu. The evening was perfectly paced, with delicious dishes like the best salami this side of Milan dressed with capers, to the rich beef shin ragu that was to die for! All of the pasta is made freshly on the day, and is served perfectly Al Dente. You could be mistaken for thinking you are overlooking a Tuscan vineyard as you tuck into the tasty treats on offer. I cannot wait to go back, and nor should you!

An amazing evening and dinner service at this great little gem in Lewes. The team were attentive, the food was stunning and we had a lovely time post meal in the bar too, following a chat with the head chef who was clearly passionate about creating a fabulous experience. We canβt wait until our next visit and we will be dreaming about the gnocchi!

Popped in on a busy Saturday morning for a coffee and was too tempted by the menu not to try the food. So glad that we did - the coffee was incredible and the food was delicious! I wasnβt sure that there would be anything vegan on offer but I was pleasantly surprised. My dad (not vegan) had the mushroom focaccia with a fried egg and I had the Tuscan baked beans. So tasty! High quality food and coffee at a decent price and a great atmosphere!

Delicious coffee and breakfast. Like, markedly good quality coffee, well made, hot. And the breakfast was top notch as well - good quality ingredients to start with makes a huge difference. Lovely sausage, bacon, beans and what I think were actually proper hand cooked potatoes, tasty egg. Yep. Will be back for the lunch menu some time.
