“Very lovely organic café and shop with coffee/tea/juice, homemade pastries and a well chosen selection of organic and sugarfree products. Relaxed place, high quality food and the friendliest owner. Lovvve it!!!”
“Just a lovely place to eat and relax in Lewes. Attentive and kind service, excellent food, a real local treasure. We chose fish fingers sandwich, Croque Monsieur and chicken poke. All were really good and very proudly presented to us. Well worth a visit.”
“Delicious brunch from the Monday pop up menu! Lovely creative vegan food from guest chef Pratie Twister. Delicious coffee as well, highly recommend the Black Sesame cream coffee was very delicious”
“Such a lovely surprise! We were visiting Lewes and just wanting a nice cup of tea, and stumbled upon this lovely gem. The back room had a lovely tea service, including a small escape room game that can be played, great service, tasty scones. It did fill up quickly as only 4-5 tables in the back, so there could be a wait (but it is worth it!)”
“Nice little place to pick up great tasting coffee.”
“From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The service was impeccable throughout our visit—friendly without being overbearing, and always on hand just when you needed them. It’s clear the team takes pride in creating a relaxed yet polished dining experience. The food lived up to every expectation. Fresh, vibrant ingredients shine in every dish, from the beautifully presented starters to the generous mains. To top it all off, dessert was a true indulgence, a perfect end to the meal.”
“We ordered the chicken platter for 2.it had more than enough meat for two people. We thoroughly enjoyed it as it was all cooked to perfection and was so juicy. I loved the red cabbage salad that came with it, however they've stopped doing the pomegranate dressing which is a shame! The cous cous is very tasty as well. The restaurant has a good vibe and staff are really helpful. They serve Efes beer as well.”
“We popped into Tun Tun’s on Monday for their free student curry and I’m officially hooked. The staff were so friendly – the moment we walked in they greeted us with big smiles and asked whether we’d like veg, vegan, or meat. I went for the chicken curry, and it was still piping hot by the time we got home. Considering it was completely free, it was absolutely delicious – generous portions, loads of chicken and lentils, and packed with flavour. Exactly what I needed on a gloomy Monday evening. I’ll definitely be going back to try more, especially since they also do a £5 student deal. Edit: We did end up going back to try the £50 mega thali, and it was incredible. We also ordered two mango lassi – smooth, sweet, refreshing, and perfect alongside the spicy dishes. The fish curry was light and fragrant, and the pastries were unreal, especially the sweet coconut pathi. The chana daal was comforting, and both the aubergine pakora and onion bhaji were delicious. The chutneys that came with everything were amazing too – a perfect mix of sweet, tangy, and spicy. I’ll definitely be returning, and next time I’m bringing friends!”
“great food, very friendly and polite staff, lovely outside seating area!”
“Less quirky than the others the Lewes road Inn That used to be the 'Franklin' if you've got a sweet tooth two for one desserts on a Tuesday! No photos too good mmmm!”
“One of the reasons that I love Lewes is this pub. A hidden gem. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular and Cask Marque pub. A few years ago we hiked over fron Eastbourne and my sore feet were soothed by a few pints here. ( oddly, there was a Morris Dancer festival going on, hard on feet and hard on ears!) Casta and Madge were enticed by the pizza menu (10£ - 15£). I however had a Gales brewery ( Fullers) 3.6% Seafarer. A super locals pub. No TV's.”
“What an excellent pub! I only stumbled upon it after a hike. Brilliant selection of craft beers on draft and a couple of cask ales. Very nice beer garden below the chalk cliff. Very enjoyable chat with the friendly owner Dominic. I’ll be back!”
“Recently been refurbished and very much improved. Lovely menu, excellent service, and good value. Their poached eggs on sour dough bread are amazing, as is their Turkish Omelette. Portion sizes are excellent, they also have a build your own breakfast option.”
“We celebrated our son and future daughter in-laws engagement here. The staff were brilliant and treated them to a glass of bubbles and cute congratulations motif on their desserts. It was great to have an exclusive little room to ourselves and we felt unhurried and relaxed. Thank you”
“A large range of stock was available and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.”
“Great Pitts-Stop for some well earned lunch.”
“After a few bad experiences, I hadn’t used for a while, but tonight I ordered a prawn purée and garlic chilli chicken… both were just flawless.”
“I've just moved into the area and this is my local pub. Lots going on, clean and tidy. It's clear the owners/management are working really hard to maintain a proper community pub and it would be great to see it busier.”
“We had our sons first birthday at the kings head on a busy Saturday 1pm for 20 people and a few kids, they were so accommodating and went out their way to make the party perfect. All staff were super helpful and welcoming and Ollie was great. Really recommend this cosy pub for a party or just for drinks.”
“Really well ran pub , very patient landlady, told at least 1 person every five minutes you can't take your glasses out the front and didn't murder any of them”
“Best fish and chips for miles. Beware though, the portions are huge. Little high on the price. 4 large fish, 3 portions of chips and 1 Savoy =£54 but you do get served a lot.”
“A very lively project running lots of imaginative and creative sessions with marginalised groups in Lewes.”
“Upon entering, the service station has overall good vibes. The M&S food and merchandise is uniform to look at and the lighting isn’t too intense for nighttime visits. After feeling cold and alone, we desperately craved a safe, warm haven - and wild bean cafe provided just that. We ordered two hot chocolates, not even the luxury option, and we were NOT disappointed. The silky, chocolately flavour exploded in our mouths and it was like a warm hug. For one of the first times in our lives, we felt loved. Initially, we were skeptical of this service station drink, but it challenged our expectations in the best way by being exquisite. It proved to us that first impressions are not always what they seemed to be; a life lesson that we will take away with us wholeheartedly. We will certainly be coming back. p.s. the server was amazing.”
“Thank you very much for your very kind service today to my elderly friend who's birthday it was today. He was very touched by the unexpected surprise. He has been coming to your lovely cafe for years and will continue to do so because the food and staff are wonderful Keep up the great work!! Xx”
“I’ve been going to this coffee shop for a while now. Their food is amazing, the ambience is inviting and their coffee is… what can I say, you gotta try it. But the star of the show are these Tiramisu cakes (or bites as I would like to call them). Right amount of sweetness & richness, basically perfect. YOU GOTTA TRY EM. ASAP”
“Amazing craft beer spot. Lovely burgers and tacos. Fish tacos, veggie, steak and pork. Outside in the summer is amazing. The beer garden faces due west so you get sun all afternoon. Beer is amazing, I absolutely love this place!”
“Found this gem of a coffee shop!! Definitely a much needed and nice addition to Lewes. Too many high branded coffee shops take over towns but this one was perfect. Nice drinks and cakes. Will become a regular when we visit Lewes for sure”
“I just love Beak. The beers are top-notch, never disappointed. The taproom itself is in one of the most unique places you can drink beer at, facing the white cliff under the perfect blue sky. Finished my Lewes beer mile here (pick up your card at any of four stops) and couldn't be more happy. Will be back next year for These Hills again (fingers crossed it will happen) and just thinking the area in front of the taproom could be used for the festival as well, sheltered by the cliff and with enough prepwork.”
