The back room had a lovely tea service, including a small escape room game that can be played, great service, tasty scones. It did fill up quickly as only 4-5 tables in the back, so there could be a wait (but it is worth it!)”

“This is a great place to bring the kids for lunch. They have delicious ice creams. Also the portions are good sized. It’s not expensive at all and it’s quite tasty. The people are quite nice, accommodating and really friendly. It’s right in the park and next to the paddling pool so the kids can have loads of fun here, you can really spend the day, and have loads of fun recommended.”

“Small little thai restaurant in Lewes. Didn't expect to find authentic Thai food in Lewes ! It was very nice. We had the pad see eew. Huge portion! 2 person can share if not too hungry. The tom yum soup was very good, too ! Most importantly the service, served by lovely Thai lady who is very nice and friendly.”

“What a lovely restaurant! Very warm welcome. Good selection for vegetarians. We shared some light bites followed by sharing a Pizza Pesto. The pizza was the most delicious we have eaten in a long while. All washed down with the house red which was very acceptable. “Nicola and her team catered for my wedding this weekend and the food was delicious and ABUNDANT! My partner and I went for a tasting a few months ago where we selected the dishes we wanted for the big day, which was great fun and super useful. All of our guests have been raving about the food, as often wedding food is too formal and everyone's left a bit hungry. The team also did 'late night food' (we chose pulled pork and halloumi burgers) which could not have gone down better. The service was seamless and Nicola is wonderful to work with. Highly recommend for any event!”

“We ordered the chicken platter for 2.it had more than enough meat for two people. We thoroughly enjoyed it as it was all cooked to perfection and was so juicy. I loved the red cabbage salad that came with it, however they've stopped doing the pomegranate dressing which is a shame! The cous cous is very tasty as well. The restaurant has a good vibe and staff are really helpful. They serve Efes beer as well.”

“One of the reasons that I love Lewes is this pub. A hidden gem. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular and Cask Marque pub. A few years ago we hiked over fron Eastbourne and my sore feet were soothed by a few pints here. ( oddly, there was a Morris Dancer festival going on, hard on feet and hard on ears!) Casta and Madge were enticed by the pizza menu (10£ - 15£). I however had a Gales brewery ( Fullers) 3.6% Seafarer. A super locals pub. No TV's.”

“Yet another amazing takeaway from Castle. Yes, you do pay slightly more than another local option but the quality is FAR better than anything around. We order from these guys all the time and we're never disappointed, and food is always delivered really fast and piping hot. Particularly recommend the Kung Po Chicken and the Teriyaki Chicken!”

“Chose Shanaz after reading Google reviews - we were not disappointed. Waiting staff were very friendly and helpful (without being overbearing as can sometimes be the case in Indian restaurants!). The food was excellent and nicely presented. Plenty for vegetarians. We particularly liked that it was possible to choose the spice level (and they got it just right). Prices reasonable.”

“What an excellent pub! I only stumbled upon it after a hike. Brilliant selection of craft beers on draft and a couple of cask ales. Very nice beer garden below the chalk cliff. Very enjoyable chat with the friendly owner Dominic. I’ll be back!”

“We had an absolutely brilliant meal here. The service was incredibly helpful and attentive with all aspects of the menu. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 rice and 1 naan and left very satisfied and full. All was cooked very well and the flavours were delicious. There was a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, all labelled on the menu, and the staff were very helpful with any questions we had about the cooking of the dishes. Couldn't recommend more for a lovely meal!”

“We had our sons first birthday at the kings head on a busy Saturday 1pm for 20 people and a few kids, they were so accommodating and went out their way to make the party perfect. All staff were super helpful and welcoming and Ollie was great. Really recommend this cosy pub for a party or just for drinks.”

The receptionist (Ali Behrouz) was very helpful when we had a problem in the basin bathroom, he act really quickly to fix it, with apologize, I am sure every manger will like to employee such a good guy like Mr. Behrouz. we will defiantly coming back. “Each time I take a sip from one of Old Tree Breweries drinks, I am overwhelmed by senses and tastes I've never experienced before. It is as if the faeries and sprites of the forest are playing fireside games inside my mouth... enriching my taste with the knowledge of the forest, and their fluttering leaps leave fizzing trails of wonder across, on top of, and all over my mouth, lips and tongue. “Hands down the BEST pizza in Lewes! Nah… actually it’s the best pizza I think I’ve ever had. No joke! The Fuoco Blue is my weakness. Super friendly staff in a sweet, simply, hidden away location behind the station. And now they do awesome coffee too! If you like a raw and rustic atmosphere, friendly, down to earth staff and pizza that is frickin heaven with every mouthful - then def come here!”

“This was the first time ordering for here, my mother said its a lovely meal to have, and must admit I am very pleasantly surprised, the food arrived hot, tasted fresh and full of flavour, delivery person very polite and cheerful, I dont normally eat a full meal but managed to eat most of it as it was delicious. “Wonderful B&B in a quiet location offering great value for money. Really enjoyed our stay here, a warm welcome from the owners upon our arrival, the room had a beautiful view over the garden and field behind - We were given a map to keep of the local area and an ice cold bottle of water for the room. Tea & coffee was also available in the room. Bramble barn was a medium walk to town, maybe 15-20 minutes. Breakfast was excellent and very generous - freshly cooked to order, with vegetarian options that could easily be tweaked to a vegan cooked breakfast if required. I would 100% stay again!”
