Avery charming pub which was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. It is dog friendly and our little spaniel was presented with a huge bone on arrival. We had a great Friday lunch with fish and chips for the wife and a delicious venison and bacon pie for myself with mash and veg. I would thoroughly recommend a trip to this pub as the service is excellent... enjoy!!!

Brilliant little pub. Great range of indie beers, incredibly friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. Had dinner plans elsewhere but I almost regretted it as the food looked amazing. Also a really expansive menu. Tons of stuff on there including Louisiana Gumbo!

A lovely local pub with the cutest of fluffy dogs, the staff were friendly and made a cracking espresso martini! Chips and gravy and Welsh rarebit- 10/10. Would definitely recommend popping in if you're in the area!

What an excellent pub! I only stumbled upon it after a hike. Brilliant selection of craft beers on draft and a couple of cask ales. Very nice beer garden below the chalk cliff. Very enjoyable chat with the friendly owner Dominic. Iβll be back!

Such a lovely pub for an afternoon meal and pint. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. The pub and toilets felt clean and the staff were very friendly. Great to see tasty veggie and vegan options. Thoroughly enjoyed the two white fluffy dogs in residence too!

What a friendly pub! For the three days we were in Lewes this became a home away from home. The highlights were for me, the really excellent pint of Guinness and for my wife the perfectly cooked Greens. Probably worth mentioning that itβs very dog-friendly too.

Dog Friendly & Far from the madding crowd! My go-to when was living in Lewes! And despite moving away it still is! Staff is always super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. On the tap - Lewes staple Harvey's Best Bitter along with several changing more-or-less local craft beers! For the more adventurous, you can get some nice German bottled beer - not only Erdinger but also less known ones! Spirits of mercy! Local and specialty gin is on so as Whiskey and Whisky! Food is always scrumptious and even when it's busy the waiting times are not too bad! They have slightly tweaked their decor - fret not! It's still quirky and steeped in history! They've just added some steampunk bits and pieces and it looks even better! The location is fantastic too! The Very last Pub in Lewes, upon Ouse and underneath the cliff. It's much quieter there, far from the madding crowd, with two fenced off beer gardens. The back one is slightly on the hill amongst trees and plants and feels very private with a view of the imposing Cliff. Couldn't recommend more!

Very nicely decorated pub ruined by staff, price for portion size and quality of food on the day. Turned up at 3pm on Sunday. As soon as we walked in we noticed an older lady behind the bar with a bad attitude being rude to customers. We thought we'd still give it a try. We sat in the front garden for a while, until a young chef comes out swearing and angry (presumably about work conditions) as he cleared tables. So we moved to the back garden as this made us uncomfortable. We then went to order food. However, we were served by the older lady (landlord?) who was visibly 'fed up' and a little rude. She mentioned ''depends on what we've got left'', when we asked what we could order as a lot of things were off the menu. When we ordered there was no 'thank you or take a seat it'll be out soon!''. She just took the payment and walked off rudely. Really bad attitude and is my pet hate. This alone ensures i'll never return. The quiche was a small pizza slice for Β£15 with chips, the deep fried (brie?) was totally overcooked and was just deep fried breadcrumb. Looks like a nice pub but totally let down by staff and food quality on the day.

Delicious food and a nice vibe. Just a short stroll down from the main street and well worth it! Chat beer with the Manager, try the Reishi (mushroom brewed) non-alcoholoc beer, the rothaus non-alcoholic beer. And definitely the cod and leek pie. Wow. Absolutely delicious. And the BBQ pork ribs, perhaps not at the same time as they are generous servings. And the fries.. excellent stuff.
