“This was not just a restaurant, this was a gastronomic experience unlike anything else we have ever had. Booked as a 30th Birthday dinner we were delighted by how special we were made to feel at the Chef's Table. Lornette and Ben run the restaurant and were like old friends within minutes, the atmosphere and surroundings were superb and the food was to die for. They offered a chef's table tasting menu that consisted of 10 courses, each was meticulously prepared and presented with flair, in front of our eyes. It was a meal worthy of all our senses: sight, taste, touch, sound and the amazing smell. It was pure theatre on a plate (or rather lots of plates). Each course was explained, matched with wine and savoured completely. Nothing was overwhelming or too big and surprisingly every ingredient was made to taste wonderful. It was a very special 30th birthday that prompted us to try something different and we are so glad we did. We will remember this meal, and the wonderful Lornette and Ben forever. We have told everyone we know about it and hope to find room on their books to book again. It was simply majestic.”

“As a fan of Indian food we thought we would try the new Chili's and we were definitely impressed. The menu being regional to Southern India means it is not what you see in your typical curry house, but the waiter here was amazing, helping guide our choices and tuning dishes to our taste. If I could I would rate them 6 stars”

And we arrived with our toddler, bags and in our work clothes (after installing a messy Christmas display covered in pine needles) the restaurant has a formal feel and next time we pop by we will definitely dress up for the occasion. “This is a place to visit several times. Fantastic service! One of the best Tiramisu in the UK? I think so. Pizza was good, and not the right dish to give 5 stars as such. Sitting outside was ok, and really the only choice the place was packed inside on a Sunday. And only 19£ for Pizza, soda and dessert. That’s pretty nice:-) And I have to apologise: I forgot to tip! Was so nice talking to the waiter I completely lost track of the usual routine…. Will come back and make this right!”

“We went to Daniele Sicilian for our Golden Wedding anniversary. We took 20 friends and family and had an amazing time. The food was excellent everyone enjoyed it, there were no complaints other than there more than enough. The staff could not have been more helpful, they were attentive but discreet. “Valle D’Oro is a wonderful family run independent Italian Restaurant in Newbury town centre, it’s food and drink selection is very good, so many options for steaks, the service was fast and friendly and you could tell the staff really care about their customers and the venue itself is cosy and well decorated. I had the steak in peppercorn sauce, I think if I ordered again I’d go for rare instead of medium rare. The fillet steak itself was incredible, it’s in my top five all time steaks, and it one of my go to items on menus so I’ve had lots in the past. The peppercorn sauce was also excellent, very thick and incredibly peppery, creamy goodness. The portion sizes are massive, so be careful not to over order, the vegetable selection looked amazing but we had no room left to try it. This is a great local business, it’s been located in Newbury since the 1080’s and you can see why it’s been so successful and long lived, it’s just brilliant, most highly recommend”

I opted for the Spicy chicken with noodles , and it did NOT disappoint. The service was also top-notch. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, I'm so impressed with Chopstik Noodle Bar. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the flavors are on point. I'll definitely be back!”

“* visit again March 2024* Had full breakfast with black pudding. All cooked really well. Crispy bacon. Runny egg. Very big portion of chips and beans. And I left my wallet on table and they put it behind the desk for me to collect couple hours later. Currently not open as a restaurant in the evening as of 19/10/19 Breakfast was good.. Eggs were perfect. Black pudding and mushrooms on the side were splendid. Not a lot on offer for my vegan gf so she just had beans on toast no butter.”

“My local curry restaurant. I highly recommend that you try this place if you like curry and you live in the reading area. Quite possibly the only reason to come to burghfield unless you live here or you've got lost looking for somewhere else. The onion bhajis are excellent to start. The mixed grill main course is a family favourite and I'm slowly working my way through their other dishes - so far, all good. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent.”
