“Very tasty grilled food. Nice view of river Thames. The tea is great as well.”
“Visited and ate here today. I had the Arayes hot starter, Dawood Basha (Chicken) main, Beirut Beer followed by the Baklawa (dessert) with a Lebanese Coffee. Absolutely delicious food, can’t recommend it enough.”
“Lovely staff! Happy to take us as a walk in even when we arrived late at night, food so so tasty especially the chicken and vine leaves. Thank you!”
“Amazing eating experience! I was on my own and was made to feel like I’d been here 20x before. Friendly and welcoming and the mixed grill s was mouth watering good! Might be back tomorrow for round two! Kaustubh served me and he was excellent!!”
“Every Friday I attempt to try a new lunch spot in the Oxfordshire area. LB's has become a main stay for any week where I haven't snuffed out something new. The owners a miserable old boy, but doesn't half whip up a nice Wrap. I once asked him if I could add Halloumi to my falafel wrap and he gave me a look like I had shot his wife...Lesson learnt only buy what's on the menu. 8.4/10 .,shukran”
“Da village did not fail to impress. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and portions were out of the world huge! Highly recommend. It was very quiet when we visited, but it is Ramadan. It’s usually busy. Top spot”
“We had our breakfast at Yaadgaar in Reading, and it was absolutely amazing! We tried the Aloo Wala Paratha and Halwa Puri, and both were full of authentic flavor. The taste and service were outstanding , everything was fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. Definitely one of the best places in Reading for a proper desi breakfast. Highly recommended!”
“We walked past the truck and were struck by the absolutely delicious smell of fresh falafel and something on the grill. I stopped immediately and asked my husband if he wanted to try a wrap from Puree. As we were only visiting Reading, I genuinely did not know how delicious the wraps are, and how highly rated the place is. We only took away one falafel and halloumi wrap, but I wish we had ordered more! The wrap was delicious even after our two-hour journey back home (I recommend eating on the spot as it probably would've tasted even better fresh!) The portions are generous here, with more than adequate sauce and fillings. The lady who served us was polite, welcoming and friendly. I also appreciate the Jaffa St. sign displayed on the truck. We will definitely come here again the next time we're in Reading.”
“My first time trying lebanese food at Beirut and it was amazing. I loved everything about it from the friendly welcoming staff to the atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was delicious and every dish was cooked beautifully. I will definitely be going back next time we come to visit our daughter”
“Fantastic food and service. We came here for dinner and we were not disappointed! All the meat was cooked beautifully and had so much flavour. The falafel was home made and the salad was fresh.”
“We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first visit following recommendations from friends and it did not disappoint! The photo does not do it justice! The food (and wine) from start to finish was delicious. Such an amazing menu with so much to choice. The staff were also so helpful and friendly. The restaurant itself is also beautifully designed. A really enjoyable experience! I would highly recommend. We will definitely be visiting again.”
“Beautiful middle eastern restaurant on Cowley Rd perfect for all group sizes. Food was absolutely delicious and service was fab! Great place!”
“I was returned from a proud and arrogant restaurant Taste of Pakistan despitee waiting g for 30 min, and very nosy staff rudely returned me. Came here super friendly staff, the ladies greeted me with such a brilliant smile that I said myself they have won my hearts even if food ain’t good. But the brilliant part is food is even amazing, I haven’t eaten these brilliant and fresh Chaii kebab anywhere in US and Europe but here, their meat, bar b que and all other cuisine. People, they really deserve a chance, they are brilliant respectful and their service and food amazing. Worth every penny, though prices are very fair and within range.”
“Istanbul Grill is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that immediately makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is inviting and beautifully reflects the rich Turkish culture, making it the perfect place for both casual meals and special occasions. The food is absolutely outstanding – every meal is prepared with care and packed with authentic flavors. The meats are tender and perfectly seasoned, the fresh bread is irresistible, and the mezze plates are full of variety and taste. Each bite feels like a journey through Turkey. What really sets Istanbul Grill apart is not only the quality of the food, but also the exceptional service. The staff go above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect, creating a dining experience that is both memorable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for authentic Turkish cuisine, warm hospitality, and an unforgettable experience, Istanbul Grill is the place to go. Highly recommended!”
“Yes, it is very safe place for dine in for families. Staff are very nice. There is a disable toilet in the restaurant. Free parking is available behind the restaurant. We had koftae kebab with turkish bread and chips. It was tasty and freshly grilled.”
“I've been a regular at Laz Tadim for over 5 years now. If you're local, you probably already know how good they are, but if you're new, keep reading. Laz Tadim is not your average UK kebab shop. The place is spacious, bright, and always spotless with friendly staff. You can really see how efficient and popular they are, especially during peak hours. On quieter days, you might even get to chat with the owner or others serving you. I’ve genuinely never seen such high quality packaging from any takeaway in my 18 years in the UK. They pay attention to the little things, and it shows. We usually go for the chicken shish, which comes with freshly baked bread and fresh salad. The freshness and quality are always spot on. Portions are very good, and everything tastes clean and well prepared. I haven’t had steaming hot bread with grilled meat like this anywhere else in the UK. We also enjoy their doners and grilled chicken wings now and then. I’ve tried their fish and chips a few times when ordering just for myself, and it's excellent too. And if you're into sauces, definitely try the Turkish Ezme. It’s a homemade sweet and spicy tomato and herb mix that my wife absolutely loves. Pro tip: order directly through their website for collection. It's quick, easy, and they often throw in a little something extra, which is always a nice surprise.”
“Quality and tasty food, fresh and friendly atmosphere. Recommend”
“We attended as a large group of 10 for a late lunch. Staff were welcoming and accomodating with dietary requirements, providing good advice on what to order. The fresh juices were really well received and so pretty! We all opted for the platters, where you get starters, mains of a mixed grill and dessert for a pretty reasonable fee- the platter for 2 worked out at roughly £26 each. The food was plentiful and of fantastic quality, we were pleased to be offered takeaway containers for what we could not manage! Well worth a visit and would love to return.”
“Had an authentic dining experience at this Lebanese place in the heart of Oxford city centre recently. Pictured below is the chicken shawarma bowl, which was a good single serving portion containing a well-balanced mix of vegetables, rice, chicken, and spices. The falafels were also freshly made, filling, and aromatic. The wrap dishes were very flavorful and satisfying as well. They offered a lot of sharing plates, making it an ideal spot for larger groups and family-style dining. Plates may be on the higher end of the price range but there are many options available. There’s also a menu barcode at the table to scan for photo, ingredients, and allergens in each dish, which makes it easy for those who don’t east Lebanese food often to know what each dish contains. The servers were very kind and mindful with allergies - I pointed out we had lactose intolerance and they were careful to recommend what dishes we can have (the chicken shawarma bowl had dollops of yogurt, but if requested can be removed). This place was also nicely decorated and warm, which is pleasant to sit and dine in particularly during cold weathers. Overall a very lovely place for a hearty meal, would be happy to visit again!”
“Really nice food and generous portions. It was hard for us to finish the food. Loved it. We tried Kabuli Polao before in Pakistani restaurant but this was way better!”

“Still one of my favourite meals in Maidenhead. Don’t forget to try their different dishes with okra. Incredibly delicious and home made! I’ve posted a new photo of it. —— Great place with Arabic and English speaking staff. Authentic Syrian flavors and Arabic music. Great shisha. Ask for Abdallah, super nice gentleman working behind the counter”
“Al-shami must be an Oxford institution by now. I remember going there almost 20 years ago. It's a great place for an unhurried informal meal with friends. Share some mezze and chat, the waiting staff are lovely, and the food is very good for the price point.”
“The Kobeda Palence has wide range of tasty dishes available. Is is a moderatly big restraint wich is quite airy and spacious. This restraint has some unique style high backed chairs and tables. (See photoes). There is also a A.T.M machine within this restrant. There is a take-away bar here as well as plenty of indoor seating available. The food quality is Amazing and delicious, and I would come again. Kobeda Palace is located on Oxford Road, Reading, and is only a minute wald from Tesco Extra.”
“I have been coming here for years with my family. We always order the chicken tikka sizzler, kebabs, fish and naan. The food is always fresh and tastes good! I dont understand the bad reviews.”
“Always had a thing for doner. Seeing the big chunk of meat being grilled is always a sight to behold and always causes me to feel hungry, nonetheless had great time there. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the staff was nice and friendly too.”
